I want to play minecraft and enjoy it, but I am on my 3rd world now and wondering if there's a point to keep playing? I want the jungle biome, and anything else that it comes with (coco beans?)...so to play any xbox minecraft now is pointless...for me. I guess.
I made a new world where I found almost everything I need. No villages, but I have only explored 40% of the world. I'm hoping that I will get villages and jungle biome in that area once it comes out...but if they don't appear I will again be dissapointed.
I have even avoided building in the area I want to build in because I don't want to "discover" anymore chunks..so I have this makeshift area to live for now..
I've felt that way since I had to move on from my 1.7.3 map and well 3 worlds later. I don't mind it as much.. my next world if it doesn't generate the new features ( since i too left unexplored areas in the hopes of new terrain generating ) Will be much better than my current... My buildings get better, my approach gets better.. I feel your pain. But I love the game so.. I don't completely mind starting over.. After this coming one though (TU9). I believe it's pretty much done in the sense of biomes so maybe the madness will end! Assuming Jungles are in TU9.. maybe not though... lol

Check it out for awesome tutorials and constant content!
Yeah, I feel your pain, but I got used to it already. Before 1.8 my first world ever was the only one I would play on. I spent ages on that thing, but since then I see every new main world that I play on improve & get better & better. It's fun seeing the improvement from one to the other. Just try to live in the moment.
That's true i have noticed improvements in designs from each world previous, my redstone wiring is getting more effecient and i know what works and what doesnt. I'm gonna try to adopt your guys' positive frame of mind because i like it too
btw I found a great seed. It has a confirmed intact end portal, blaze spawner in survival(put nether portal at upper left of map island), all biomes (2 appropriately sized mushroom biomes, large ocean, two villages close proximity to each other. Massive cave system directly beneath beginning spawn.
I've basically just accepted it as a fact of Minecraft life and nothing worth getting upset about. I haven't really been doing much extensive building in my 1.0.1 world (which is the tutorial world) and have really just been focusing on battling the mobs in different ways... trying to get better at dealing with them and figuring out what difference enchanting and brewing make. I think jungles and the End will pretty much be the last biomes to be added (ETA: not that the End is technically a biome), at least for quite awhile (if 4J continue to follow the PC approach). I still have my old build world and am still adding to it as ideas hit me. As WolfeUK indicated, I'll have no problems throwing it into creative mode to add some of the newer things if I really want to.

Actually if they bring foward a few others and bring back beaches (preferably sand only) then there will be a chunk of them in generation. Also the sub-biome types, if they decide to add more to that list as well. I just hope they never make the extreme hills into the biome itself and having an edge one, as that in the pc just creates sometimes a look of 1.7.3 meets the newer generation look. It is all in 4Js hands and we will see when it happens.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I have even avoided building in the area I want to build in because I don't want to "discover" anymore chunks..so I have this makeshift area to live for now..
Does anyone feel the same way?
Oh yes. In the past I have purposely kept my exploration to the smallest chunk possible, because I wanted to "save" the undefined lands in case a new feature came out. It made for restrictive gameplay, as the Xbox 360 world isn't that big to start with!
I've changed my philosophy somewhat. I now have essentially accepted that I WILL be restarting the world with every major update, and to explore the world fully and just enjoy it for the time being.
It is pretty annoying actually. I will say I am on I think my 4th map that I did a substantial amount of work on. Usually what I do is build something different on each map and once we really get to the point where we are done adding stuff I will probably just rebuild everything on that final map. Not sure if we are ever going to get to a final map, but this works for me and my friend. I also am looking foward to jungle biomes, but more I want all of the various structures that get built
