So, in 1.0.1 Nether Wart was added. And I know you can plant Nether Wart on Soul Sand and it should grow I thought. But, I tried it on my snow plains map by putting Soul Sand in the ground and planting the Nether Wart. Three Minecraft days later it was still the same.
So, I am wondering: does Nether Wart actually grow in Soul Sand and if so, does it need to be under certain conditions, for example, darkness, within X blocks of water.
It should, but in this update, it happened to be that it would only grow in the Nether and not the overworld. This was changed later on in the PC version so it'll grow in all dimensions... But for now, it can only be grown in the Nether.
Edit: Dang, Ninja'd. But yeah, I'm hoping they decide to fix it in the Bug fix update

Why would they fix what isn't broken? It is working how intended.
