On the xbox they do spawn. Whether this is a bug or intended has not been clarified by 4J.
Like some other I actually have seen mobs spawn. Haven't seen a creeper or spider spawn yet on one, but have seen skeletons and zombies spawn. You can tell where the mushroom biome is by whether or not mushrooms can be placed on the ground and grow & spread across it. Usually when mushrooms are in direct sunlight the pop out of the ground as an item. So it is safe to say it is a mushroom biome when they do not pop out like in another other biome in direct sunlight.
Mooshrooms will also only spawn in this biome. At least far as I know. I have never seen them spawn anywhere outside it so in my eyes they don't.
Just would be nice to know though what I mentioned in the first paragraph. Where bug or intended?
Either way would be just nice to know.

this is the xbox 360 forum where i think most have made it clear where not interested in what the pc version has/hasnt got.....lol
just sayin
This is only where it actually matters, as quite a bit of the code is directly from the pc. There wouldn't be a minecraft xbox edition if not for the pc edition. After all many of the things up to a certain version are going to be added from the pc, that was the idea. Mushroom biomes originally on the pc did not spawn these mobs and is has been that even after where the xbox is to go its' own way. Therefore in the programing aspect, why wouldn't the xbox?
Now that is the only reason I quote the pc edition in this case, just to know if this was meant to be or just something they forgot to program in. In other words asking is this part of the exclusive or was it suppose to follow the pc in that respects. Look at the nether, that is a good example; The fortresses are to spawn practically just like the pc, but in the next patch it will be exclusive to xbox due to the need or to stray even further from the pc version.
That is all I was doing is only quoting a fact, and had very decent reason behind it. Now it doesn't matter whether is intended or a bug, what does matter is just the knowing, to add onto the list of diversity of its' twin as it grows into its' own product, or in this case a entertainment medium.:D

well you will until they actually go their own way. It is then that the pc stuff really should not matter.
I know the xbox is its' own version, and so is the pc. But both are built from the same concept. Or in this case built of from the same programming model. And it right now is just simply a port for certain things and not for others. I know it gets tiring hearing about the pc version all the time, however fact is still fact. I don't know i guess I am too brutally honest sometimes...><
Patience.

No, I don't believe so.If they do they won't for very long.
Per the wiki
"Like most other blocks, both hostile and friendly mobs may spawn on it under the right conditions."
you are corrrrect!
I thought I read somewhere that there was a bug with that and they did still.
Stay fluffy~
