Check the Wiki for the PC update list to get an idea of what we will get and when. Seriously though, enough about the world size!
What the PC has is irrelevant. We are only guaranteed stuff up to 1.2.3. After that 4J and Mojang plan on trying to make the Xbox 360 Edition different from the PC version. That means different content.
The reason there are no real time shadows in Minecraft is because your Xbox 360 would melt from the inside out. Even on the PC, adding shaders can take the game from 300fps down to like 80fps. Doesn't sound like much, but imagine what that would be like on the Xbox 360.
Very doubtful it would melt the system. The 360 can handle some pretty powerful graphics with other games. Adding something like dynamic shadows would not harm your system in anyway shape or form (aside from playing it too much and it overheating). There are dynamic shadows in many other games, adding it to Minecraft wouldnt be too much of a problem for the 360.
Here is what they should modify the 360 version in my opinion, it makes it feel like a totally different game. Much better and more realistic (even for the vanilla minecraft)

Hmmm, we only match the PC version until 1.2.3? This could be very interesting when you think about it. I'm exited, anyone else? I do hope that we still get major things from the PC version or at least things like them.

Adding the Unbelievable Shaders from the PC would most likely cause Minecraft to no longer run on the Xbox 360.
Yeah, tons of other games have that kind of shadowing. However please point out another game where it's world is made up of million of blocks that you can manipulate however you want. That kind of dynamic shadowing would have to keep up with how you manipulate the world. If you blow a huge hole in your world with TNT, the Xbox 360 processors, which are already barely run Minecraft, would then have to keep up and put the shadows in that hole you just blew. The game processes everything in real time. That is why you need one hell of a PC to use that Shader mod.Like I said, I've seen people's PC that can run Minecraft at around 300 frames per second. They added the shader mod and it dropped their frames per second all the way to about 70 or 80.
Until they optimize Minecraft more, if they can, there is no way that shader mod could ever be applied to the Xbox 360 Edition.
I want more redstone items and upside down stairs mods (like the tecnic pack) and exclusive/new blocks mobs and items and also if 4j is reading this a pistol would be easy all u need to do is take a bow from and old vesion of mc and re texture and rename.
Oh I so love people who say upside down stairs. Right thinking right there. lol Aye to jungles (think that also means being able to grow coco beans), different color planks, upside down stair/slabs. I look forward to what else they add... any time machine lying around to speed things up? lol jk

Minecraft can be optimized yes. But as it is, it really doesn't put much stress on the 360. Mine barely ever gets hot while keeping my disc tray empty and playing minecraft. I doubt you are an xbox programmer, and neither am I so its pretty much you think it cant, and I think it can. Until someone with the knowledge base actually reads this and tells us for sure, we will wind up just keep saying "Yay!" "Nay!". The xbox 360 is a powerful system, and could easily handle a shaders mod like that if 4J put the time and money into tweaking it for that (which will probably never happen until they make more money off the arcade version).

Then 4J must be lying when they say they're stressing the Xbox 360 very close to its limits.

They probably are, because they don't want us to know they could put a lot more content in the game. It would cost them to do so, you want to keep your customers in the dark as much as possible about your workings. Wouldn't you? Would you want to let them know everything that you were able to do, only to have them keep bugging you about doing it when it would take a crap load of time and money, and make them mad when you don't do it? You aren't giving the 360 much credit in terms of performance.

How How could you possibly want them to remove floating landmasses? That is one of the best things in Minecraft.
Keep dreaming. The PC just had a massive overhaul to Redstone and it still works that way.

o.o yes
Jungle biome
4 colors of wood.
sideways logs.
Witches huts
For game mechanics i really want the item placed within blocks travels upwards so item elevators are possible without craploads of pistons.
Bungie claimed the Xbox was being stressed "close to its limits" back in 2007 with Halo 3. Yet games continue to get better.
