I was playing on a world that I loved for awhile. But after being in the world for awhile, I realized there were no Nether Fortress's in my world. In my world, I never switched to creative to cheat, and I kept it on hard at all times. But after awhile of consideration, I decided I was going to start a new world with a Nether Fortress. So I did, but now I can't get into it. I miss my old world too much to do anything here. How do I get myself back into it?
Well, this is a real pickle. If your issue is being able to "get into it", as opposed to being able to get in to it, I may be able to help.
You may remember that feeling of familiarity you had with your old world and long to see it replicated in your new, unfamiliar world. This can only take time to realize, and that's the only real investment to make in a new world, and really: what else do you have but time?
Maybe you just really liked the shape of that coastline, or the sky was just that perfect shade of blue?
Maybe you always just knew where that creeper was going to come from when you walked out the door first thing in the morning? Or, this particular pasture was always the perfect place to find a tasty piggy.
Perhaps you can just take the time to get to know your new world. I promise: it will surprise you in ways yet unimagined, but it'll still look awfully familiar in other ways.
Or maybe it's just time to go back to < INSERT PREVIOUS GAME HERE > for a while... :-)
Starting back over is tough, trust me I've done it like what umpteen times. Too many to count. I like certain things of each world but eventually just get side tracked into another generation frenzy. It is difficult to find a survival world I like. So I just play survival as is whether I have that nether fortress or not.
You see I am a builder of my own inspiration, and love mining. To me my old world I will always go back to, and do this and that to it that each update version will allow me to do. Mine will never have a fortress or even a stronghold. I refuse to bring that one into creative because it creative was never around when I started that world. That would defeat the purpose.
I am picky most times when I try to do up survival on a new world. But since I like building and mining, that is what I usually end up doing. Then it turns into something I enjoy still no matter how many maps I make. Still looking for that ideal one for me since 1.8.2 came out. Which is a long time looking if you ask me. It is all this new terrain and structures, but almost lost sight of how I thought in the beginning. My cousin actually indirectly showed me with a few sessions playing on his world.
So the best thing I could suggest is question how you started on your primary world in the first place, as well what you actually like about it. Resources can always be gained back, buildings can always be recreated, monsters will always be fought, etc... Regardless What is it that gets you wanting to play your old world. It all just takes time. Just enjoy what time you spend in the moment, not whether I had a lot of this and that in the past, well get it back build up and so forth. Well that is my take and I think this wall is a bit too much so I will ....:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I feel your pain. I'm currently waiting on update TU9 when jungles get added. After that there should be no major biome/structure updates and I can finally find that perfect seed to start survival in again.
That is exactly my problem too; I am afraid to build anything in my current world for fear not just of losing it, but also because of the biome climate changes. i have already lost two worlds due to my forest area turning snowy due to the addition of biomes into the code, and i really don't want to invest time in only to see it happen again, plus, jungle biomes are awesome looking.
Understandable feeling. I feel much the same way and have been just hanging out in the Tutorial World this time round. It's called "flying a holding pattern." However, even when flying around in circles, it IS still possible to catch a glimpse of a great sunset. In other words, inspiration can come at any time and from the strangest places. Like Tamorr, I still build onto my old build world whenever I get an idea for it. It doesn't matter to me that it will never have melons (unless I decide to bring them in) or a stronghold (unless I decide to buiid one myself from scratch) or an end or end portal. The landscape in that world is STILL as inspiring as it was the first day I opened it. Someday I'll be finished with it... but not yet, not yet.

I'll try I guess. Thank you.
