when a host quits a multiplayer session what happens to the items in the guest users inventory?

If you are a guest, as in you don't have an actual profile (whether it's silver or gold), and you're just a temporary sign in to play right then and there, everything you had disappears.

However, if you're an actual Xbox Live user, your inventory stays and the next time you join the world, it will all still be there. Provided the host has saved beforehand that is.

If the host quits the session and he did not save game before he/she quit then you loose what you have, unless things changed on the last update.

If your a guest put your inventory in a chest before you get off. you lose your xp no matter what
