As we are only in the recent update of 1.9 I believe, are we going to get more things the pc has? These items I am regarding in my question are upside down stairs, inverted half slabs, and the different colored wood (I believe the diff. color wood came with the jungle update). I have seen many people complain we shouldn't get these, but there are others like myself who aim to be aesthtical as possible. With the named items (blocks) we would add more beauty to our worlds and break the monotany.

Actually we are in 1.0.1, and those stuff will come in, but in a later update; more likely the one where the end is brought out. With one exception. The colored wood was mentioned a possibility but no concrete yes or no was ever said. Just be patient as they will more likely come eventually. Can't say much for the other stuff beyond 1.2.3, as all that is a toss up.

Ah, my post is known. lol Anyway yeah I understand as for I am patient. I am (really am) hoping to see the good things I have seen happening from PC. *coughwalls segments, potatos, carrots, quartzcough* Big on making things look real as possible
I completely agree. Not entirely sure what is taking to long (and could stop them from making) the multi-colored wood. Its not like they can't just translate the code Mojang made a year or so ago.
I also am confused as to why certain people do not want the different colors of wood. The best argument I see against it is that it clogs up your inventory. Just cut down one type of tree then. This is already the case when going around a forest and collecting logs. You avoid Birch, because the Birch logs are ugly, and Oak logs look good, and you can make good planks with it too.

Dear
OrbSanction, and anyone else for that matter,
I completely agree with you guys and can't wait for these features (especially the upside down stairs), and I feel like you guys feel the same. For this reason, I would like to play with you on xboxlive, only if you want. My gamertag is LegoMan33 (made it the first year xbox came out), and I am not 8. Would like to start an active server type deal and think it would be cool to collaborate with numerous people. If you want to play with me PM me on here or xbox about this thread so I know you aren't a bot.
I am not speaking for 4J, but I have heard that there is a chance they will still add some of the stuff the pc gets after 1.2.3 even while going away from the exact pc updates. I do hope this is true, because there are a lot of things that I have seen like some of the new structures that look really cool.

Well in the way I see it, step by step. After all did you notice they have the names of the trees for each wood type? Well that is just 1 step closer to making the colored wood. Sure it might seem like speculation, but put it in a programming perspective; You can not have colored wood without an identifier of which wood is what.
So I would say they are on their way to putting at least that part in. Now we just need the leaves to be labeled, and the pieces to be put in as other block types.:D Well that is how I see it...

Well said Tamorr. Looking forward as I stated before, but now another thing comes to mind. Hope we get new crops (even if they aren't what PC has) so I can expand on my agricultural area of my survival. And would be nice to have a few exclusive things like the borders pieces out of that one mod Feed the Beast. lol Yes, I am watching Keralis and I know we won't have mods. But would add more detail to have little things like that in my opinion.
You guys realize with 4J having to waste precious updates on bug fixes that very soon we are going to have to start paying for the basics, like different colored PLANKS(sorry guys, we already have different colored wood :P), the jungle biome, jungle and desert temples, etc, if they aren't implemented soon. Now I don't know exactly what the limit is on the free updates but we are going to get our ninth very shortly, and I think somewhere I read that we are only getting 10 free ones.
My theory is this: We are getting the TU9 bug fix soon, which would leave only one free update left. If they plan on taking us to 1.2.3 with the free updates, its going to be a very long while before TU10. Trust me guys, I hope to God that I'm wrong about the number of freebie updates, or that somehow Micro$oft extended their allotment.
With hindsight being 20/20, I think they should have spaced our updates out longer(despite all the whiny kids on tweeter) to make sure each one added quality coding, and not the broken garbage we got time and time again. Idk, perhaps even a community based tester team of some sort.
we aren't gonna have to pay for updates ever. that's just not gonna happen. i'm not 100% on this, but i'm pretty sure 4j and microsoft worked out an agreement on as many free updates as they want. paying for updates just isn't gonna happen. >_>
also! who has ever said we shouldn't get colored planks and jungle biome? why would anyone even say that? O_o

Too early to speculate that... As we have not gotten the recent bug fix for #7 yet...O_o or even the TU9 update... So we don't even know exactly all that is going to be in. I am just saying the way I see things. If I have to pay for updates beyond their select limit, then so be it. I'll just wait for reviews on what is in it to see whether or not it would be worth getting before buying. Of course by that point when and if it does happen they updates would be more further apart then they are now due to that fact. But that is also just a guess. It is all up to them what they are going to do at that time.
As far as different wood goes that has been in the game since the beginning. It was recent in the 1.8.2 that they got their names labeled. Besides one of the 4J members has mentioned interest in the colored planks/stairs/slabs (the wooden ones). The only thing is more of a when they will or even if they still will, but still logic says they needed to have a separate label for each wood log type before they would have those colored wooden trio of block sets. Either way I am sure what ever they decide will be good enough, at least for me, since I like the what they have done so far.:D

Flame you good sir, lol jk. I don't think this (bug fix) would technically count as a update. And I to would pay mp on something if it expanded my playbility of the game, such like Tamorr said. I really do look forward to the jungles for they have ocelots. Those creepers need to know thy place. lol And spawn eggs will be such a blessing for me being able to populate my towns/ villages/ cities.
Back on topic for I went a little off. I noticed there was a new snapshot for PC involving a new block/mineral. QUARTZ... like wow, talk about ideas for that. Great library pillars shining with glory. lol

yeah it is a block as common as iron, except in the nether. Used in a few things, I don't remember what as I only saw it mentioned in one of Ethos let's play series episodes. Or was it docm77's... Either way they both have a good impression of the new stuff in those snapshots for the pc... Although unsure if any of it will make it to xbox, after all it is said to go in a different direction, however doesn't mean some of what the pc has will not make it. Just means it all depends on what 4J sees well enough to put in.
Jungles are something I am waiting for more than the end, as all I want to do in the end is make a ender ender or well something like that..lol And jungles well that should be obvious... I love new terrain generation to stroll through when making maps...:D

Are people really that bitter about it? It's not like you have to use them, they're just extra options for people who do want to use them.
Unfortunatly Zoskk it is true, and I don't know why people are bitter or venemous to certain things that would add detail. And aye Tamorr to the Jungles. Plus when we get jungles the terrain generator should be more balanced and better than right now. I love deserts and all, but when about 45-50% of the land is desert it's depressing. lol
Jungles are going to add some fun in my opinion. With all those tall trees, scalable vines, and creepers hiding in the foilage on the ground.. it will be a bit more challenging. Plus on the upside there will be times to actually build some decent tree houses or lookout spots.
