I was wondering if i can play on a PC, even though i only have an xbox 360 membership. Someone just let me know and what information i use to sign on if it is possible. Thanks for reading!
Please read the sticky threads. I'm sure this has been asked before.
4J studios owns the Minecraft XBLA version.
Mojang owns the Minecraft PC version.
Microsoft owns your Xbox-Live Gold.
Microsoft has no correlation to Mojang, when it comes to Xbox.
I don't want to come off rudely... but this should be locked.
...they aren't interchangeable at all at this point.
I don't think it ever will be. It's almost becoming two different games, with the limits Xbox gives and the almost free-roam-programming a good PC can give. Xbox is equal to a old computer, probably pre-dating Minecraft at all :P... stupid Xbox.
The are not the same game. Consider it like this: just because you bought the 360 version of Battlefield 3 doesnt entitle you to the PS3 version for free.

I agree. They will probably just get more and more separate as time goes on. I do think it is possible, however, that there is something that might happen for Minecraft on the next XBox. At Minecon, Microsoft, Mojang, and 4J presented their working arrangement as a bit of a "partnership" and one that was working quite well to that point... so who knows, it might lead to something someday. (Yeah, I'm an optimist). There's almost certainly nothing going to happen regarding cross-compatibility in the near term though. Still, part of me likes the stand-aloneness of the console. I like that it's currently a one-style product without all the complication of the numerous mod packages they have on the PC.
Bottomline, I like vanilla... it's always been my favorite flavored milkshake.
Amen to that! Optimism is the way to go. Vanilla FTW! Only chocolate I like, is my BROTEINN. Lol.
It'd be so awesome if the next Xbox could make the world bigger (technically, if they wanted to add 1 map size area to seeds, they would have to add 8 total map sized areas so it could surround the one we already have. That'd make Minecraft work 8 times as hard to generate seeds )
Then again, I've NEVER completely explored and collected all non-renewable resources in a map. Too much time. I want a bigger world for more possibilities on one seed, 'tis all. Another plus for online people, it'd give all 8 players their own map area. Could you imagine the host/server headaches?

I have a friend who says he quit playing Minecraft on the PC because the worlds got too big and everything and everyone in the world got too spread apart... then I thought about my dad, who once walked 20 miles into town to take a girl out... and got stood up.
