im playing on my Survival world since i got the game and im actually doing awesome. I got a Zombie XP Farm, got a AUTO Wheat & Sugar Cane Farm, I 3 Stacks of diamonds, got my Red Stone powered Enchantment room, LVL 30 Pick Axe, Nether Portal, Obsidian, Sand & Cobblestone Generator... anyways...
The thing is that I was just gonna get started on my Posion room, so I headed to the nether and I LITERALLY went around the whole thing like 12 times and theres NO Fortress :'(
PLEASE tell me theres some kind of fix to this... :'( Dont tell me I got to start EVERYTHING again cuz if thats so, GOOD BYE MINECRAFT... :/
There are many threads about this. It is a bug, and will be fixed in the next bug update. I think.
EDIT: Sorry, that sounded a bit rude. As I said, there are many threads abou this. 4J have confirmed that in the future, in the next bug update I think, that all maps/seeds will get a fortress etc.
You're just gonna have to wait unfortunately. Or start again on another seed, if you really cant wait.
I don't want to get your hopes up, but sometimes nether fortresses are COMPLETELY encased in netherrack. I've dismissed a few worlds because I couldn't find any trace of a nether fortress, but then went back again and started blowing away large netherrack formations with TNT (in creative mode). And about half of those worlds turned out to have nether fortresses after all.
So before you really give up on your world, create a new one in creative mode using the exact same seed (prevents your survival world from becoming "tainted" for the purpose of leaderboards and achievements) and search again using TNT.

Welcome to the forums by the way!
Thank you so much But one questions, will the update give MY world a fortress even though its an old seed (by old I mean before the update)
I thought it was confirmed on another thread, via twitter or something, that 4J had said that ALL worlds will be getting them?
(Please don't say I'm starting rumours. LOL )
Trust me, with that statement 4J definitely mean all NEW worlds. And in the very unlikely case that I'm wrong about that, I'd actually be happy to be proven wrong.

The game will not overwrite old terrain with new terrain... it never has and it doesn't on the PC either. You wouldn't want your home base suddenly disappearing because a different biome was added to the game nor would you want something you might have built in the nether disappearing just because that's where the nether fortress would now generate on that seed (i.e. if that same seed string were used to generate a world today).
Start blowing up the nether with TNT as I explained above. In the worst case you'll waste an hour of your time before having to start fresh, but in the best case you find a nether fortress and won't have to start over.

Thinking back, I'm sure on another thread I said that we'd have to start a new seed, and everyone was 'argueing' with me, saying that it would just be added to the Nether. . . . maybe that's where my first thought/post came from.
I'm going to look for that thread now actually . ..

I know at one point I thought an unexplored nether would have a chance of generating a fortress after the fix, so if I said something misleading you, I'm sorry. I now believe the entire nether is generated right when the world is created as if it had already been explored. This makes it different than the other terrain in the world, which generates upon first exploration of it. I think Straight_Down has a good point. Perhaps a lot of people have been giving up on their nether prematurely when they haven't seen a nether fortress out in the open. He's indicating that he's found about 50% of them totally encased in the netherrack.
There is also, though, a bug going on that generates structures in survival mode and then doesn't generate them in creative mode. I've had incidences of a mineshaft literally disappearing in creative mode in the tutorial world, which is by default a world that is always generated in Survival Easy mode. In both cases, I generated the tutorial world, found the disc located on the Mushroom Island, and then saved and exited the world. I came back into the one in Survival Peaceful and found the Mineshaft. Saved and Exited. On the other, I came back into the world in Creative Peaceful and found the Mineshaft. Exited without saving. Re-entered the world in Creative Peaceful and went to where the Mineshaft should have been... and it wasn't there. Whether this bug is limited to the tutorial world and related to the code 4J put into that world to control generation of the one music disc and chest, I don't know; but it really shouldn't be possible for a mineshaft to disappear from a world that it had previously generated in regardless of the mode in which it had been saved. If this bug is not limited to the tutorial world and is related to the nether fortress generation issue, then I would say all bets are off as to what might happen re nether fortresses after the bug fix.
No need to apologise. . . we were all confused I think.
If I remember right, it was a discussion about the 'End', that led to us thinking that maybe all Nether' would eventually get a fortress, after the update. That was before 4J' twitter, that I didn't see, that led to me embarresing myself in my earlier post. LOL

OP. You WILL have to start a new map.
Bugger. . .. so will I
