Hey, Mildora Games here with a fair half n half opinion.
Now people have been talking about mob eggs for awhile and i think thats stupid.
Only reason i say that is because Im a survival player and a survival map maker.
Now when i make maps I sometimes want specical mobs in special places. so if i wanted to make
a Skeleton trap room with jockey's i couldn't do that with mob eggs due to the fact that you throw them and walk away.
Now if im wrong Correct me, But once you throw a egg thats it. Does not spawn again right?
Reason i want spawners. Works alot better in my opinion. It would be cool to even have both as long as we get spawners.
Now if theres another thread out there like this locate me before you lock...
Ive searched for one but yet to find one.
So Yeah...
You have a point there, but if you want multiple mobs spawn automatically, put the eggs inside a dispenser and hook some redstone up to it. Also, I dont think theyll be adding spawners in the near future.
Yeah, the only way to get spawners in PC are mods like Mo' Creatures, that adds spawners to the creative menu, but I do see your point. What if you wanted to build a Mob Arena?
You could just, you know, refill the dispenser after it runs out of mob spawn eggs. Dispensers can hold 576 mob spawn eggs. I don't really see that running out very fast. Especially if you put multiple dispensers.
Keep dreaming on seeing mob spawners. That has always been a no-no thing in Minecraft. The only way to get them on the PC is with mods. Even then, you need a special mod to make sure the spawner functions properly and doesn't just spit out pigs.
Your argument doesn't really make any sense. Spawn eggs + dispenser = mob spawner. The only difference is that you have precise control over the rate at which the mobs spawn and even the exact time they spawn. The possibilities are endless! Traditional mob spawners force you to be within a certain proximity and seem to be somewhat random in spawn frequency. If you really wanted, with some interesting circuitry you could make the egg and dispenser combo act exactly like a normal mob spawner. You would just have to refill it, every several months, if not longer.
I would much rather have spawners myself, but if I can't, spawn eggs are a wonderful substitute. You can even mix up the types of mobs you want to spawn also unlike a spawner. (Creepers/Endermen/Zombies...ect...)
Can I make mobs spawn randomly with a DIspenser?
Im being real right now i don't if if i can. Thats what i mainly want here.
And if dispensers do spit out eggs ever Blank Blank wouldn't there be a Mob Cap?

I'm sure that using certain redstone circuits would allow for a random timing to the spawning of mobs. You could also put 9 different mobs, or any combination there of, into a dispenser.
Yes, there would be a mob cap, just like there would be for a mob spawner.
I don't understand why you'd want them to repress any new aspect of the game... I wonder if people were thinking like this when they were first talking about introducing redstone circuitry into the game.
Clearly, people will want any new features they can get, then they will discover every possible way to take advantage of every property of the new feature's game mechanics, that's been the story of Minecraft since the start: fans are much more creative with these features than the creators ever intended. That's a lot of what makes Minecraft great, and also keeps it from getting stagnant, like all the knock-off versions.
I guess what I mean is... You could just ignore the eggs if you don't want them.
But I do agree that Spawners should be enabled in creative mode... I mean, really... Why not? How is that any different from allowing people to make a million snow golems or giving themselves unlimited diamond items and experience bottles? Does it really "break" any aspect of the game any more than any other Creative feature?

Hi, I'm "Endo" and I play MCXBLA. Also, check out this Facebook page I made specifically for my MCXBLA pictures.
spawn eggs are fine. if you want a monster spawner, turn a dungeon into a pvp arena.
This also could work but, I have some plans for the future. My Survival maps are not basic.
I have made sky maps to a very intense level.
I get my building ideas from the dumb and dumber lets plays.

I see where your coming from my friend and I agree. Also if theres no spawners which there probably wont be eggs are fine. I can find my way around them i guess. In all im just saying I don't want them i'd rather have spawners. This is only my opinion and I am slighty strong about it
There's a difference between the dispenser in PC and the one on Xbox. In the PC version if you put a bucket of lava the dispenser wil spit the lava same thing with water, but in the Xbox version is different if you put a bucket fill with lava or water the dispenser will spit the item not the content of the bucket so probably will drop the egg not the mob

Wow, I've never stumbled upon that. Interesting, you have a point. It could just spit eggs as a pickup, not a thrown entity waiting to spawn. Maybe an update is what fixed it on the PC and Xbox is behind with this? That's really interesting though.

The reason the Xbox dispenser doesn't spit out water or lava is because that specific ability wasn't added until 1.3 on the PC.

Have you put a chicken egg inside of a dispenser? I think they'll do the same as mob eggs.
I may be wrong and I may be right.

I thought spawn eggs were going to be only in creative mode. What does that have to do with survival mode?
I have made sky maps to a very intense level.

actually no... it will shoot eggs and still have that chance that one will hatch... So it would be like as if you threw one yourself.
