I've finally got lucky and received a Silk Touch enchantment on my diamond pickaxe. However, I'm unable to obtain ice blocks by "mining" ice.
Mining grass and mycelium blocks works fine, but when I try to mine an ice block, it simply gets replaced with water just like if you break an ice block with your hands or unenchanted tool. Even when I dug a 1x1x1 hole, poured a bucket of water in and waited until it was frozen only resulted in the ice block turning back to water.
The pickaxe in question also has Efficiency IV and Unbreaking III on it. Could that be it? I'm starting to suspect that the Efficiency enchantment might be the culprit here, but why does mining grass or myclium still work then?
I am wondering why they changed glass panes... I use to just break and receive, it is hard enough to get silk touch to use on glass, or ice.... However the ice part is not in the game yet. It was said that it will be added later.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
If you wanted an Ice block in your house. . . or wherever else . . you could use a piston and redstone torch to 'push' it to where you need it.
Obviously may take a while, and isn't very efficient, but until it's fixed, it may help.
Unless pistons can't move them . .. never tried tbh.

Was Silk Touch/Giant Mushroom support added in future updates on the PC? I'd love to mine those lovely red blocks from the giant mushrooms, but they simply turn into plain brown mushroom blocks.
