I play in a survival only minecraft world that i have made and i pride myself on that. (I don't like cheaters that use creative in survival) But recently i have run into a problem in the nether. I really want to brew potions and there are two nether fortresses but they are conjoined awkwardly. There are no nether warts and no way of getting blaze rods. (I've spent hours running around the nether looking for other fortresses and looking through the fortresses i have). I really dont want to go into creative cause it'll make me feel bad and i won't be able to get any achievements after. I really wanna make potions and i need to for achievements. Any suggestions? i really need help
If there really aren't any Blaze spawners or nether warts in your world, you have only two options: Add them via Creative Mode, or start a new world. Personally, I'd choose the latter because even though I would never call people who use creative to add things to their survival world cheaters, I want my worlds to be "pure" survival worlds.
Edit: In case you decide to start over on a new world and don't mind using a seed someone else is using as well (in this case, me), try the seed -1218334185303690928 (including the negative sign). It's a beautiful world that has a little bit of everything biome-wise (only one very small mushroom island, though), and it has a nether fortress including one working Blaze spawner and nether wart, a couple of abandoned mineshafts, two villages, and a fortress including an end portal.
Mm, I have had a multitude of problems with and relating to the Nether and potions in particular.
Firstly, it is rare to even have 1 Nether Fortress. You are even luckier if you have two, so you're really getting your hopes up.
And then it's horrible when you find out that 1) there isn't a Blaze spawner, and/or 2) there's no Nether Wart.
This has happened to me a couple of times. I know what you mean by pure survival, and agree with you - it's very annoying when something unremedial like this happens.
The best half-solution I've found so far is to create a world in creative, and have a quick look around, then if everything needed is there, create a world using the same seed in survival (although even this isn't a guarantee - sometimes where loads of Blazes are present in creative, none in survival for some reason).
Hopefully with the next update, Nether Fortresses will always contain Blaze spawners and Nether Wart - and there'll be a higher chance of finding the fortresses in the first place.
My thoughts excactly, I also found that finding a map u actually like the look of when you generate it whether it be random or using a word or whatever, there is only about a 10% chance of getting one with a Nether Fortress and only about 20% of those that will actually have both Blazes and Nether Wart.
" I really wanna make potions and i need to for achievements..."
Some good news BadKid: No XBOX achievements require potion-making. But it's still pretty tough to get the piggie to ride 500 meteres in a minecart... :-)

AFAIK, there is no achievement for that, either. You must get a saddle, put it on a pig, get on him, and have him fall about 5 blocks and take fall damage.

or in my case .01% chance, as every world that I like and check the nether does not have a fortress period...>< So in a way the game is against me on that front. People are just flat out lucky to even find a world you like and have a fortress in the nether...lol
Patiently waiting for that patch to come, so I am in no concern for the fortress at the moment.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I made a new world with the same seed and went into the nether as suggested. When i did i saw over 20+ blazes in the nether fortress but they weren't there in my survival world. I really hope in the next update that blazes just spawn on the nether brick in nether fortresses because this is really holding me back in my world. (Can't go to the end because i can't make the eyes, potions, etc.) anyone have any info on the next patch? i haven't really looked around the forum but I'm about to.
If you do add warts/blazes into your world through creative, and want to keep the legit feeling, only allow yourself to get them when you perform a certain task. Everytime I get a ghast tear I allow my self two blaze rods

It's not using creative that's a bad thing, creative is fun and I love to build things in it. It's just that using creative to "help" in a survival map loses the actual point of the game, surviving. So most people try to keep there creative and survival maps separate
Agree.
To the OP, however, as someone above said, you don't actually need potions to get every achievement available in MCXBLA, so you can still finish up whatever ones you have left using this particular map if you want to. As far as pre-checking out worlds in creative mode not currently very reliable. The worlds seem to be randomly generating with some differences in them when they are put into creative mode. I've had entire mineshafts literally go missing from the tutorial world depending on whether I load it in creative mode or in survival mode. Today, I discovered the same sort of phenomena with a missing lava lake near the castle. I discovered it by accident in my tutorial world that has never been loaded in creative mode, so I decided to test it by starting a new tutorial and then exiting and saving it and then loading it up again in creative mode. Guess what, I broke the exact same blocks as I had in the my survival tutorial world and there was no lava there at all. So, right now at least, there is definitely something funky going on with how the worlds generate and save in the various modes of the game. As for doing any work with blazes... I'm waiting for the bug fix first.
You gonna need to start a new world for the end anyway, and in the next TU, not sure about the patch, everyworld will DEFINETLY have a Nether Fortress and Blaze Spawner.
Well is the end in this version? Cause i really don't want to restart my world. I figured after i get all my achievements i'll go into creative and put the eyes in the portal (for doing a task like someone above suggested) and get blaze rods (for doing a task). If i can do that then I'll be fine because i want to keep this world going for as long as possible
Edit: Doing this i know i won't be able to get a blaze spawner and a nether fortress but I already have a nether fortress.

You may want to start a new version of this same seed once the bug fix comes out; but I'd wait to see what happens before I would decide on that. The bug fix will not be adding new terrain to the biome code, so your climate shouldn't shift. Since structures (i.e. the mineshaft in my tutorial world) are currently appearing and disappearing on me even without regenerating a new seed, I won't guarantee that the missing structures won't just spawn into your current world even though the terrain is supposed to be locked in once you explore that area. It's a bug, so we'll really only know more for sure after they manage to track it down and fix it.

What UpUp_Away95 said is the gist of it. We're not going to know anything for sure until the bug fix is released. Including whether or not maps will have to be regenerated. A good rule of thumb for the XBox version though is new content = new map necessary. I know this bug fix isn't supposed to introduce anything new, but with all the issues we've been having here, we all plan on generating new maps in hopes of eliminating any glitches/bugs possibly continuing on the older maps.
Oh, and my two cents worth is creative isn't cheating when all you are doing is adding something you couldn't otherwise get (i.e. blaze rods, nether wart, etc.). I agree that using creative to fully stock up and build before playing survival isn't actually getting the real survival experience, but, hey, to each his own. I suggest you finish your achievements on a survival only map so you can add things when needed on older maps. Especially maps you've put a lot of hours into and would still like to play on occasionally.
Good luck!

Actually you ride 500 meters in the minecart. XD

I had a world with a mushroom island and there was no nether fortress... Nice thought though.
