Why is it that with every update, we are required to start new worlds in survival. Currently, blaze spawner generation seems like a simple bug to fix and can be reasonably applied to existing worlds, but based on history something so simple can only be fixed with a new world. This problem essentially makes survival a waste of time. So please, explain to me why updates cannot be applied to current worlds, and have not so far
Updates are applied to existing worlds, but terrain that is already generated won't be overwritten since, once the player has explored the area there is a possibility that the player may have changed/built in that area. You really wouldn't want your home base disappearing suddenly just because that particular update puts a different biome on that place based on the updated seed formula.
Climate does change with each update since it is regenerated from the seed every time the game is loaded allowing for different weather events to occur as time in the game passes (e.g. rain). So, if the terrain was generated/explored before the update it won't change, but the climate may not match it after the update.
This issue is not one that is exclusive to the XBox edition. The PC had similar issues while they were implementing this same series of updates about a year or so ago. It is an unavoidable effect of the game generating worlds based on a seed formula and then making subsequent changes to that formula in order to add in new biomes and structures. On the PC, people would just walk out a little farther into previously unexplored terrain... and in effect, start a new world that way.
The only real bummer I've found is not being abe to walk away from the base and get the new features like onthe pc but hey it just means I got new area to explore new updated designs to use without having to destroy old structures andnew dungons to convert into grinders I look at it like opening a new present each major update like the recent ones
