My son is an xbox gold member but when he tries to create an online game he gets the following error: You are not allowed to join this game because one of your local players has a member content privilege setting that is too restrictive.
However, I've followed the advice for solving this error in many other forums and for the purposes of testing, I have given him adult content privs, but still the error comes up.
Note that there are 6 players registered on our console:
* Two adults - with xbox silver membership, I have ensured they both have adult privacy settings. However with silver membership they have no way of playing online
* Three children with no xbox membership at all.
* My son with the gold membership.
I have tried playing around with various settings for the above members, but all without luck, so something very strange is occuring.
RickyReb has the right of it, but your problem may also go further. If your son's LIVE is listed as a child to your LIVE, you will also need to go into his Windows LIVE and XBox LIVE profile/account settings. I had the same problems releasing my parental controls with my son and his friend when we got the family gold. Turned out our problems were rooted in my own parental control settings for their accounts and not any of the settings on the XBox. Good luck and happy mining!

~My problem is a simple one: I'm severely allergic to stupid.~
Thanks very much to you both for your responses. RickyReb that fixed the problem nicely (it worked with both member Content = either 'Everyone' or 'Friends'). IamSelendis Thanks for highlighting this, I did check those as well, and they appear to sync with the console settings.
Thanks to you both, my son is now happily mining with his friends!

Any ideas?
