I read on Jebs twitter and I saw him make the post about Minecraft possibly being on Vita when the contract with MIcrosoft ran out. Call me greedy, but I kind of want the game to stay a Xbox 360 exclusive, if not on the next generation Xbox. Are there any people supporting me here this? Can like, Microsoft pay more money to mojang or 4J to keep it a exclusive?
I don't see why it should. The more profitable Minecraft is as a brand, the more attention it gets. If our version wasn't selling like mad like it is, you can bet we wouldn't be getting all these title updates for free. If at all.
Call me what you like but I dislike Playstation in general so yes...
I'd like it to be a Xbox exclusive.
I don't think it would sell as good on the PSN either.

I actually think it wouldn't sell as good on the PSN.
With the way the Playstation community works and how obnoxious the PSN Store works I agree.
You might all want to think about how you'd feel if you were a Playstation-er. I'm pretty sure you would love for it to be available to you then, and probably wouldn't like people saying it should stay exclusive to Xbox for no real reason.

Eh, since I play on PC too I don't really care. I actually think only about 75,000 people on playstation actually want Minecraft on the PS3, but with next-gen consoles coming out it wouldn't be worth it. Also from my point of view Playstation players like games with the "graphics." But that's what I've observed from the XB360 vs. PS3 Wars online.
After reading these posts, I had a thought: if it was released on Playstation, and if Sony gave it free updates the entire time (only if, if that's not the case then this argument is invalid), then it would be beneficial for us, because Microsoft would have something to lose by making us pay for later updates (assuming the number of free updates we have are limited). In order for Microsoft to compete, they'd have to allow free updates for our Minecraft, otherwise people would decide "Hey, I'm just gonna play this on the PS3/PS4" and suddenly Microsoft is out some money.
Other than that, I think it would be great for PS players who have never played Minecraft before to be able to play it on their console.

You do realize that it's 4J paying for the updates and not us. I think after TU 9 they have to start paying. Though I remember when they first began working on XBLA MInecraft they said the updates will be free, so if they ever become close to bankrupt (Which I highly doubt because they are one of the richest companies I know because of Minecraft then all the other games they did.) We might have to pay to help support

If 4j has to pay, they're gonna lose money unless they transfer some of the cost to us. There's a whole thread about what will happen after the 1.2 update and DLC was brought up as a possibility if the updates stopped being free (which is possible, Microsoft likes money) so I was just going on that idea, and if that were to happen along with Minecraft going to Playstation how it would overall affect us.
If 4J released it for Playstation wouldn't our updates be half the speed they are currently?
Minecraft gets a bit dull between updates to extend the time it gets boring would only decrease any further sales.
I don't mean to complain or anything.

I'm guessing 4J has some sort of "deal" with microsoft so they'd probably stay with them unless sony bought them out when the contract with microsoft runs out then in that case Minecraft would be developed on the PS3 and someone else would take over on Xbox.
Spreading the game around isn't really a bad thing. Minecraft started on PC, moved to the Mobile world with Pocket Edition, then to Xbox 360 with the 360 Edition, and now it's on the Rasberry PI with Minecraft PI. Each has it's own features that appeal differently to everyone.
Seeing it on the Vita or the Playstation 3 wouldn't be a bad idea, nor do I honestly believe that it would be the same version as the one we know on Xbox now. I believe that it would take it's own course and go it's own direction.
I think Microsoft has "console" exclusivity as far as I am aware, however the Vita is a mobile peice of hardware, wouldn't be much a stretch to take the current mobile game and flesh is out a lot more, or another PC port done by someone other than 4j. Either way it wouldn't bother me, who cares about exclusives, in fact I hate exclusives, I shouldn't have to buy 4+ different pieces of hardware(Wii, Xbox, PS, PC, etc.) just so I game get the games I want, more developers should develop games cross platform.
Once the exclusivity with Microsoft ends, it should go wherever Mojang wants it too. I honestly think they should hold out for the next set of consoles. Imagine Minecraft on the Wii U, Xbox Durango (720), Playstation 4 (?).
I say it should stay with xbox. . . . I don't like Playstation. Dunno why, because the Playstation 1 was this first decent console I had. Lol
Also, I remember when Halo 1 came out . . ..they said 'Only on xbox'. I was like, " Yeah, playstation can't beat this. PC community, we have one over you now". . . . 6 months later it was on PC. Why say Xbox exclusive when it's not?
I reckon that, in the future, MC will be on every console type tbh. Diversity is how companies make money. Unfortunately.

I've never really understood what the logic is behind this thinking.
Just because you don't like the Playstation means they should be excluded from having a game in your opinion? Minecraft already isn't exclusive to the Xbox 360 so what difference does it make for it to be on another console?

i think it should stay exclusive because there are games that stay exclusive to that system,i think minecraft should be exclusive to bring in more players.....if it's ok for minecraft to be on ps3 ,where do i go to petition getting "God of war" on xbox

Sales are sucking. The 3DS is out selling it 3 to 1.
