Is it the exact same as PC?
How long does it take for each breedable animal to grow?
Can you breed villagers yet?
Advantages of breeding?
If I breed two blue sheep will the baby be blue? I have only bread white sheep...
If so could I start a breeding empire to where I could have an infinite amount of ever wool color?
Can you breed the same animal twice?

1. Havent played the PC version so im not entirely sure. There might be some additional features not yet implemented in the Xbox version. you might check the wikis version info for breeding?
2. Babies become adults in 20 minutes.
3. Can't breed villagers, they just roam around like passive modes right now.
4. Advantages: reliable source of nourishing food, good use for extra wheat and seeds. Can keep all your animals in one place.
5. Yep, 2 same colored sheep make the same colored baby. not sure if the color mixing has been added yet.
6. Have it going on my world so far. 2 of most colored sheep in my menagerie, each group isolated from each other. Theyre breeding just fine, all I gotta do is sheer the babies.
7. Same animals can breed 5 minutes after last baby made.
Breeding is pointless at the moment. The animals just despawn if you walk away from them.
From what I've seen, they only despawn if they're missing health.
I've kept full-HP animals in captivity for many in-game hours with no problems, yet when I poisoned them to 0.5 hearts, they started despawning.

This is incorrect, in my case. I sat there and bred 15 or 20 baby animals, not hurting ANY of the animals in the pen. Walked about 40 blocks away to check on my mushroom farm, and when I came back, I only had one adult sheep left. ONE. No other animals at all. And none of them were hurt.

where they fenced in? animals don't despawn... unless mojang lied to us, but that really isn't the point of this thread... All I want to know is that if yo can breed VILLIGERS yet, or is that in the next update.Cause if you can...
Animals don't despawn, and I THINK I may have heard somewhere that villiager breeding willbe in tu8... I don't know this for sure or remember where I heard it so take it with a grain of salt.. It's not for sure as 4j hasn't released that list of things to come with tu8 yet
Honestly, breeding has become more of a hassle than I thought.
Sometimes my sheep won't breed at all. Both sheep will be in love-mode trying to mate, but nothing happens. I've wasted entirely too much wheat on repeating this method in my wool farm.
So, I'm basically going to wait on an update to fix that before I continue on with that whole thing over there. Lol.

You must have some kind of bug in your game as i can breed all my animals and travel all the way to the north of my map and stay there for a few game days and come back, they are ALL still there. Animals DO NOT despawn.
I believe there IS some sort of bug going on. I have been mucking about in the tutorial world. The animals in the pens created by 4J never seem to despawn, even after I have bred several generations and added several different colored sheep to pens in front of the pens built by 4J. However, any other fence pens, walled areas, and pits I have set up and stocked with breeding pairs of animals elsewhere on the map HAVE despawned/disappeared whenever I have left those areas even for a brief time. This includes an area I set up inside the main tutorial "walled" area of the map (by blocking off the "tunnel" and ensuring that the walls are consistently at least 3 vertical blocks high all the way around), which is very near the pens 4J constructed by the castle. I have repeatedly stocked the overall main tutorial area and several smaller fenced areas inside it with various animals and left to go mine only to return to a completely empty main tutorial area, while still having the animals in the 4J pens beside the castle remain there.
My animals haven't despawned yet but I constantly experience the animals not breeding bug. Really I'm not sure if it is a bug or not. I'd assume it has something to do with the passive mob cap and they won't actually breed anymore if you hit the cap.
What should happen is bred mobs take precendence over "wild" passive mobs and a wild one should despawn if you're at the cap and want more animals bred. I don't care that there are sheep wandering around on the other side of the map, I want more in my pens.

They aren't despawning. They are phasing through fences, while it may be ugly, replace the fences with another type of block.
I have bred a brown sheep and a white sheep and got a brown sheep babyAnimals seem to be getting through fences somehow. I just make tall fences by stacking 2 or making sure they are on top of a 2 dirt pile before leaving them alone.
They aren't despawning. They are phasing through fences, while it may be ugly, replace the fences with another type of block.
They are phasing through fences, but they are ALSO despawning. I have had them disappear from double high fenced enclosures, double wide fenced enclosures, roofed enclosures, pits, and triple high walled enclosures. I have also personally seen them spawn on the wrong side of a fenced enclosure upon re-entering a game and simply walk away. ALL of these things are happening at different times in various locations on my map. The only pens animals have not disappeared from are the pens constructed by 4J in the tutorial world, although I do occasionally have some animals respawn upon re-entering the world in the adjacent pen, e.g. a pig will appear in the cow pen or vice versa.
I had a fenced in area at first, and I thought it was the so-called fence glitch that was causing me to lose animals. So, I ditched fences completely and build a completely enclosed glass-walled and roofed area, and herded all of my animals in there. I had a pair of each of them, and proceeded to make each of them breed one offspring. Great, I thought, I'll go off and do some mining and let them grow up. I went away and mined underground for an hour or two, but when I came back, I was missing about 50% of the animals.
I've done this a few times now, herding new animals in, in particular any coloured sheep I found, and kicked off breeding, only to leave and come back after a while and there will be missing animals.
I've given up on breeding for now. With no further action from me the pen now has a solitary white sheep and no other animals, and that's after I didn't even have any white sheep in there in the first place.
Just keep them completely fenced in and you're fine. I've been breeding awhile now, started with two white sheep. Now I have 1 stack of black wool, 1 stack of green, 1 stack of blue, yellow, orange. In the process of getting every color.

I'm happy that this works for you: it doesn't work for everybody. Animals are despawning for some people. As I've said above.
The despawning just happened to me once. I leaved my ranch and when I came back all the animals where gone. But it didn't happened again and breeding works fine for me.

It always happens for me... no matter where I keep my animals, they always disappear =(

Same thing happens to me, the animals just spawn and despawn randomly. They are supposed to only spawn once per chunk and NEVER despawn, but it seems to be really screwed up right now.
