Next update, I was kinda sad to find out about this as well, cause I found my first pink sheep and in my excitement, I sheered it, BIG mistake, ah well.
Breed a bunch of sheep of any color, then pair them off and dye them whatever color you need. You should have pairs of colored sheep then. Breed these pairs and you have a reliable source of that color wool. Might consider keeping the original dyed sheep just to know what color youre dealing with, or use a sign.
an easy way to farm wool at the moment is to breed 2 sheep, shear the lamb, then kill it (since they don't regrow their wool until the next update anyway) abd depending on your luck/size of sheep farm, you could get a full stack of wool fairly quickly.
I don't have a bunch of naked sheep running around my world...
Oh wait. I don't bother trying to capture them because they all despawned. I just keep a set of shears on me, and when I run across some sheep, they get sheared...
They all seem to grow their hair back within 24 hours (real time) later.
They do not.
The only ones I keep are brown, black, and magenta--these three colours are most annoying to get.
Every other wool can be acquired pretty easily....
But then everytime I shear them, they NEVER regrow wool. I did a test where I sheared a sheep and left it for an hour, it didn't regrow wool.
It was an open farm so sunlight can get in, theres GRASS BLOCKS, theres TALL GRASS blocks, theres WATER pond.
What more do I need?
