wonder if it will still do it online, since I know it did it offline disconnected from the internet. Would be willing to show you where it has happened. It is on the tutorial map, I just have not gone back to it in a while so I'll have to make way to the spot it happened at which I believe was in the North west corner near the mountains past the desert where the snowy tree area is... like I said.
My ID is FaultedHealer89
PS: it is quite a walk from the tutorial section, as like I said I first noticed it when I was in the North west corner of the map. Hopefully you will be able to see it, as it does take a little bit before it does it.
I've managed to see it happen online as well, and I am available right now till the end of the day. It usually happens like 5-10 minutes when I am in that area. Haven't ever tried see if it does it in the tutorial area, but it does do it in the area I currently am at whether online or offline.

If you could provide any extra information about the world that would be great.
Such as: Time played on that world, What options you have had set on it or when you first started seeing the issue.

Let's see... I basically after the tutorial was over, I saved and exited and changed the options from then on.
I had the same options since then.
1. I changed it to survival easy
2. Unchecked tnt explosion, pvp, trust players.
3. the only one I have had checked the entire time was the fire spread.
Unsure precisely what you mean by time played but I'll guess that you mean how many hours I put in it... 4-5 sessions; so roughly 30-40 hours total, also it counting the initial time I did the tutorial. When it started appear was in the 4th-5th session. So that would be anywhere from 24-32 hours.
I only roughly remember since it has been a while since I played the map, ever since the bug/glitch appeared. And since this was on the tutorial world it had the other options the way it is set when you start the tutorial world. Well the ones that you can not set once you create a map, for obvious reasons it being the tutorial.
Initially with each time I play after the fact it happens somewhere between 5-15 minutes before it shows up again, and from that point will happen more and more & be continously happening eventually with just about every block that I have placed or was naturally there.
I hope that was the information you were requesting, and best of luck rooting the problem out..
EDIT: Also since I was offline when it started, I had no choice but having the regular options unchecked since when I play offline I am usually disconnected from live, and the internet with the xbox.

I'll have a play about with the Tutorial and see if I can reproduce it using that and a similar area to the one you were at.

I didnt use the tutorial at all or change any game options within the game. I'm not saying those couldn't reproduce it, IMO through my coding experience when it happens it looks to be a block sync/update error. the block is saying hey i'm destroyed and plays the 'destruction animation' but the game says hey you're still thereeeee the block eventually does disappear.

actually half true... The block stays till you exit and save... and then reenter the game. Also the work around it using a non-placeable item (ie melon slices) on the reappearing block as if you are placing, right trigger I think. It just doesn't go away untill you do either of those, even when you constantly mine it. Also I noticed something else like how the dup glitch was done, if you place a block using the reappearing block as refering, the reappearing block will update to what it was but the new one will do the same if mined, and sometimes can result in duplication. that was an accidental find I recently noticed, and very difficult to pull off. Hence accident, as in I didn't mean to but that is what happened.
Similar to how the compact single piston transmuter use to work. Mine it enough and it gives something extra. Usually though it will be nothing as the block is technically not there, at least in the saved data. Also since this only happened once, I can't say for sure I can do it again, nor do I really want to as I don't like doing that.
The reappearing blocks happened long before that accident happened though, so I know that is not the cause, but more like a little side effect the rarely occurs apparently. maybe this bit may help as well... but I doubt it since it is pretty much a side effect when the reappearing stubborn blocks start happening.
the only time i ever had block disappearing when they reappeared back was in 1.8.2, which ways I have to agree probably lag, basically my machine trying to play catch up to what actually is happening.
This one in the newest update does not do that, it is pretty much it tries to play catch up and ends up a temporary block update error, from my understanding & view; which causes the block to stay till it is physically updated by placing a nearby block. Doing that will start the process over, so using the method I described with a non-placeable item was the only way to combat the stubborness of it per say.
Now I don't know for sure that it is a block update error in memory, but I do know that it is not something it saves improperly to the disk, at least nothing noticeable while reentering that map. The reappearing blocks will not be there when you do that. Granted this is just what I have observed while I played.
So those 2 might be separate things, or might be related. who is to know for sure, but there is a main difference between the two that distinguishes them apart. At least from my experience & what I have noticed.

Does it happen every time you load that map? No. A couple days ago I was replacing stone with wood planks in my mineshaft and for a while I would say at least a 2 hours everything was fine. Then I started having it happen. I would destroy a stone block and replace it with a wood plank, but if I wasnt fast enough the stone would re-appear and I would have to break it again. However, if I was fast enough I could put the wood plank in the spot and it would stay a wood plank. Yesterday I played for a while and it did not happen for quite some time.
However, and I will try to test this again soon, it did happen later when I had a near full inventory and I do believe I had a near full inventory the first time it happend. I didnt think anything of that until it started acting up again yesterday when I got to a near full inventory.
Does it happen everywhere or just a certain location? I really have only been working in my abandoned mineshaft, but will check more places with a full inventory and without one.
Is the map Offline/Online or Either when it happens. Both it has happend and not happend on both offline and online.
Basically, I've only ever had this happen on someone elses world and vice versa. I always just assumed it was lag between the connections. On a friends world, I would mine out a row of stone, and it would all reappear, disappear again, and then drop into item form. While this was happening, I would ask my friend (the host) if his game was running normally and he said it was.
However, the same thing happens sometimes when others play in my worlds. Sometimes they'll have the block thing happen to them but my game will be running fine. To me, that all just sounds like lag, but if it isn't, I have no idea what could be causing it otherwise.

Well the exit and save trick works occasionally, but not enough. Do you have any advice for making it stop a bit more frequently?
It happens in a particular area of my world, sometimes. I've found that if I save and come back to the game, everything I've mined (and reappeared) is gone.
Offline, survival.
Fire spreads, no bonus chest, err...I forget all the options. I don't have access to my console right now so I can't give the seed.
It first started happening after coming back from the nether (my third portal) and a creeper blew me up.
Basically, I've only ever had this happen on someone elses world and vice versa.
I have seen it happen when I was the host on multi-player splitscreen (offline). I beat it by placing a block where the block was re-appearing. (With me it was the stump of a tree that kept re-appearing. To beat it I mined the stump with a wood block and then replaced the wood block in the exact same spot. I was then able to mine the "re-placed" wood block and the tree did not re-grow).
Well the exit and save trick works occasionally, but not enough. Do you have any advice for making it stop a bit more frequently?
unfortunately I don't. All i have come up with is the work around I mentioned. I have not seen a way to reduce it, since in my case it just gets worse the more I play that specific map that happened on. if you catch it before it saves, then just maybe you can prevent it from happening in the first place. That is if you play with autosave off. I have not tested this because it was only a couple maps I had that problem on, both being new ones. Have not had it happen to another map yet. But if you notice it happening before you save, then don't save, just exit without saving. That might prevent it from occurring, but no guarantee about that.
For now I guess you would have to live with it, and use that work around mentioned to in the very least get each block to disappear, even if one at a time. It might be one extra step to do while building and mining, but so far it is the only true way, beyond saving and reloading the map.

Well I can experiment with it, next time I start seeing blocks reappear I'll see what happens when I just re-load the last save. Hopefully it will get rid of it!
Okay I just had it happen again today and sadly it happens with near empty inventory too. I will say that I tested some things and if you hit the LT button on the block when it reappears it will usually go away. Another interesting thing though is if you break a block and then look in the spot and hit LT the block will NOT reappear. I just tested that about 5 times on different types of blocks and it worked every time.
I now have no idea why it messed up 2 days ago and then worked for most of the time I played yesterday and is now messing up again today.
Not sure if it helps but I have had this happen once before, I got very worried but it went away.
I was underground at the top middle of the map when i found a cave at the end of the world off a mine-shaft. The cave was small and went past the barrier(I think) So it was light without any light source. I then tried to place torches around but could not, After i moved away i placed one just to make sure it was just that spot and when i removed it it would come back over and over! Then blocks would do the same on and off as i made my way away from the affected area!
Some blocks were invisible and i could see through the map where they were.
It seems to happen in lines or groups., I have also made a world and it was real bad right away, I then made a new world with the same seed and it was fine.-That was offline to.
. Happens offline and online
.Seems to come and go when it happens
. PVP is the only box i have checked.
.seed was made on survival, peaceful, And only generate structures checked.
I am currently playing mostly in the tutorial world also, but it has happened in several of the world's I have played in since 1.6.6. In the tuturial world now, it is most frequently occurring near the home base (castle), which is also near the animal pens. I have not added too much in the way of new builds above ground as yet, although I have both mined and added a significant amount of stone to one area of the underground (additional stone blocks are being created using a cobblestone generator). This rendition of the tutorial world has not ever been loaded in creative mode, but I do change it between Survival Easy and Survival Peaceful from time to time (I have another that I have loaded in creative mode and that is the one where the entire mineshaft sometimes fails to appear where it should.)
It occurs rather frequently in 4-player local splitscreen, a little less frequently in 3 and 2-player local splitscreen, but has also occurred in single player offline. I haven't played online for sometime, so I can't say whether it is currently worse online or not. A common cause to it starting seems to be rain starting up in the world. Since the latest update, more frequently the reappearing block with eventually disappear on its own without being re-mined (but this is only after a very noticeable delay period). Before the last update, I used to have to leave the area for a bit before the block would disappear. I didn't have any occurrences of it on the weekend. It might be coincidence, but I just cleaned the dust out of my system and controllers as well, so my system is probably working at a better level of efficiency right now.
Once a bout of it starts, it usually continues with virtually every block mined unless I save and exit and then re-load the game (or if in multiplayer - when all players exit and the world is reloaded fresh).

While Offline in my own newly created TU7 map. It happens very rarely. Maybe 5%.
Sorry I Don't know the seed. As the host hasn't showed it to us. It's survival with trust options enabled.
