I was on my friends server and peacefully mining when a zombie pops up behind me. I kill it with a sword when suddenly he gets struck by lightning and his model (which is now solid white) starting glitching so it looks like its dancing. After I calmed down from laughing, I asked my friend if he noticed any lightning strikes and he said it wasn't even raining. Any ideas how this happened?

Lightning happens in the desert with no rain, so not necessarily weird on that point, however the odds of a zombie being struck by lightning are pretty darn low, even less likely to happen as you're killing it.

If you were underground mining when this happened I'd have to call BS, but hey! you can HEAR the thunder down there, so why not a really deep lightning strike?
