Has this ever happened to you? I was playing on one of my maps and decided to explore the edges of the map to see if I could find anything out of the ordinary to occupy my time lol. Well I noticed a visible cave from the surface of the water. When I dropped down inside the cave, which is still almost completely over run with water from the ocean. I found a dungeon, underwater...Funny thing is since there were maybe 2 or 3 blocks that weren't submerged underwater skeletons were still spawning. Then I heard zombies moaning, so I decided to find the source. The 2nd dungeon was 15 blocks under the skeleton spawner. This dungeon had a double chest. My 1st time finding a double chest in a dungeon. Has anyone else found a working spawner underwater? Included is a screenshot, sorry but it's a bit dark cause of the area it was taken in. But you can see a skeleton and the spawner which has a sand block on top of it.
Spawners will still work underwater. Since, they are supposed to spawn things from what I understand. 3hx8w area. So they'll spawn them in mid air if need be. Only thing that stops them pretty much is lighting.

I've seen a few underwater spawners, but only 1 double chest ssince the game came out.
That chest had a Golden Apple...and a few oddities that won't be brought up here....
The double chest didn't contain any really important things. Just some redstone dust, some wheat, a bucket and I think string. I didn't remove anything, just wanted to see what was inside. And this world was made before the Dec. update. The seed I used was the same seed I generated when I first started playing the game. Which turned out to be pretty good with the structures being added. I haven't found a stronghold as of yet, but under the spawn area where I ended up digging a temporary cave home I dug straight into a mineshaft. So right off the bat I found melon seeds. I have yet to try and generate a new world using the same seed to see if there is a nether fortress. For the time being I'm content with not being able to make potions or a brewing stand on this world. I have a zombie xp farm, and I'm currently working on hollowing out the area in the mineshaft to make a cave spider xp farm from the spawner. And since the slimes now spawn up to Y-40, the slime rooms I started (which weren't very productive) are now doing pretty good.
They have to be placed directly on the spawner on all sides and top. But if it is in water this is clearly not an option.
