started a new map with the new update, went through a lot of seeds to find a favorable one, SuperSteve... lots of land, diverse biomes, etc... Found a great acess point to the nether, inside a fortress, everything nearby, then all of a sudden, Locked Out!!!
Now when I try to enter the nether on this map alone, my xbox freezes up... help
actually had the same thing happen about a week ago. reloading the map didnt fix it. There was another person in my game who would also freeze when trying to enter the nether but in one of the attempts for him to enter alone he froze, I restarted the xbox completely while he was starting his back up and when we got in the game he was inside the nether, which fixed it. Not exactly science but I have the feeling it will eventually fix itself if you keep trying. If nothing else try clearing your xbox cache.

i didnt realize that xbox had reducable cache, Ill find that and see how it works. I actually have a shadow recon map in creative mode that will still allow me to access to the nether.
The world may have an error in it, or it may be the chunk in which the portal spawned.
You may need to erase the world or deal with no Nether, or try moving a portal at least 50 blocks away from the original.
You might also try re-lighting or just deconstructing/reconstructing your nether portal. At any rate if this is a problem that a lot of people are having then I would hope the imminent bug fix should repair it soon enough.

I built a second portal and i seemed to get a little further
i didnt realize that xbox had reducable cache, Ill find that and see how it works. I actually have a shadow recon map in creative mode that will still allow me to access to the nether.
You may need to erase the world or deal with no Nether, or try moving a portal at least 50 blocks away from the original.
