im having trouble getting slimes to spawn in my slime farm.
so i found a slime chunk, 2 actually, and hollowed out the chunks. right above bed rock (y=3). ive followed all the tutorials online i can find. theres no caves in the chunk that ive found so far. yet somehow after 20+ mins of waiting, i only get maybe 1-2 baby slimes to spawn. ive had one big one spawn so far. note ive had this farm for a while. when i look at people videos on youtube, theyre slimes are spawning like crazy. how can i get my slime far to do that??? i swear ive done everything.
how do you more experianced slime farmers make yours??
is there any other tips you guys can give me on maximizing slime spawns?? things that have worked for you? any small things eg. making a cobble stone spawn pad instead of being right on bedrock or putting torches in a certain pattern??
Have a good read through this helpful thread, & you can't go wrong. Make sure you're at least 24 blocks away from your farm. Slimes will not spawn within a 24 block radius of you.
Mobs don't spawn on bedrock. That also might be part of your problem. Raise your whole farm up one level and like boxanata said make sure your far enough away.
I do have slimes spawn at bedrock, for the record, But I have a second level at 16 and get alot more activity there. I would recommend to just dig a 3 high section right above where you are now at about level 16.
