This is very simple to do and quick. When entering a portal into the nether, toss an ender pearl seconds before you transport. Don't throw it too far or else you will be too far from the bedrock to get on top. When you enter the nether you will be teleported outside of the bedrock that surrounds the nether. Also you will not be able to move or walk around when above the void, this is why you don't want to throw the ender pearl too far. Once you're above the void you want to throw ender pearls towards the top until until you are looking at the top of the bedrock. Once you're on top you can move around and you cannot get off. you will have to kill your self somehow. And if you haven't figured it out you will need a lot of ender pearls because that is the only way you will be able to move around.
I can confirm this.
You can get back into the Nether, however.
You have to inch your way off the edge so you're clipped on the side of the world.
I somehow managed to glitch my way back in using Pearls again.
(This can also be used to pointlessly get to X/Z = +/- 433 in the Overworld.)
Although this might seem pointless to some people, I guess it shows you what Gaming in general has always been about over the years/decades! Where after awhile (or even right away) you'll try to find some way of 'glitching' the game to get to somewhere that you originally couldn't, or do something that would otherwise be impossible I guess Although when it comes to using forms of 'duplication glitches' to essentially mass-copy items, then its generally frowned upon in terms of Minecraft, especially if you do glitches on someone elses world etc.
Always trying to find a new glitch in minecraft. Too bad it's not a job.

Accept it is lol (Playtester)
There was a way to "break" bedrock blocks back in the 1.7.3 update, haven't tried it since I'm guessing it's fixed it was pretty much a block transmuter that was also a bud and would turn the bedrock into a piston arm. You can also get out pretty easy with boats in the right locations.
