I wouldn't miss jungles. With our world size the biomes are already pretty small. Just modify the terain generator to be more like 1.7.3. I could do without the anvil too. Not that I hate it, but I think it's good that equipment wears out and needs to be replaced not just repaired.
From what I've seen - and especially heard - in various youtube videos, I can definitely live without the sound update. Aside from that, I really don't think that we need more kinds of mobs. Making leather required for books is also something I wouldn't like. I mean, leather-bound books are cool in real life, but not in Minecraft.

Is it a chicken or is it a duck? - It's a chuck, because dicken sounds stupid.
Finally someone that has common sense,NOTHING SHOULD BE EXCLUDED. Why does it matter about the texture of gravel when your saying to exclude gravel beaches, its not like your going to use the gravel to build a house, if your not a newcomer, and why would you want to exclude different shade ,not colors, of wooden planks. I mean i don't speak for everyone, but if you walk in to every single house in real life and see that, if they don't have carpet, they have the same wooden planks and it would kind of cut the diversity in Minecraft if it were like that.

you obviously missed my reasoning for the gravel beaches. Gravel is good as it is. With the texture change it sticks out like a sore thumb too much. I prefer the mold it has now. It is not as noticeable, but yet you can find it easily with no problems. They time they add the gravel beaches, they better add more things to do with gravel beyond roads and arrows... The next texture makes gravel look not like gravel, and more like it was some kind of man made iron that you would normally see on some vehicles as a step up. Even some ladders have that metal print that the new texture has.
I would rather have gravel look like gravel, or at least something similar, however iron footing is a far cry from gravel.
Like I said I have 2 separate reasons for each. It is not that I don't use gravel, it is that I don't use it often beyond some roads temporary build till I think of something more appealing to me, or my own style.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

So your saying you want a terrible sound update, bats that currently are useless at the moment, and most importantly, THE ugly gravel texture that stands out from the rest of the terrain. I dunno about you, but 4J are a smart company, and they listen to the community. Hopefully they are listening to are understandings about how we feel about it. P.S. Maybe they could add there own gravel texture?
Yeah, why even update it at all? What's the point of progression? Nothing should be excluded. When you start playing that game it becomes too complicated with what should and shouldn't go. Everyone has their opinions, and everyone is different, but Minecraft is Minecraft and I don't see why we would want 4J to deliver something that isn't Minecraft. I'm sure they're going to look at some of the glaring issues, as we've already seen them do. There's nothing to worry about, I for one am very excited about the future updates. And I would feel cheated if they decided to leave something out "just because".

I don't think a lot of us would feel cheated if they took out the sound update. It has to be a demand from the community though to convince them. They are a smart company and if they realize we don't want something, I think they will deliver the not wanting to be delivered.
I think that the views of one shouldn't be weighted upon another, personally i enjoy the PC version in its entirety. Witches have their uses, they make great farms for potion equipment, i defiantly enjoy the different colors of wood as it adds diversity to the game. The bosses have their uses, but more so for complex creative farms, and taking one down in survival is a feat worthy of the treasure room.
While i agree that bats and the sound pack were somewhat annoying, you get used to them, and bats can be used to identify areas that you have lighting issues with, furthermore while exploring caves they add atmosphere to the game, and i don't doubt that they will be of use somewhere down the road.
Everyone seems to be taking....this 4j going their own way thingy a bit too far, they were saying that they would like to add a bit of themselves within the game, they didn't once say they would stop following MC PC updates after 1.2.3. They said that they would like to add their own touch to the game after 1.2.3, stop reading more into this then what it is.
I'm willing to bet that while they may add thier own spin to the game, that this is toggle able. 4J don't own minecraft remember that, and they are bound by a license with mojang what that exactly entails is something most of us will never know.
Point is don't for a moment think that after 1.2.3 we'll never see anymore version updates that closely follow the PC. I think that after 1.2.3 we'll start to see texture packs, maybe some version of popular mods implemented and perhaps a twist or two by 4J, but will still follow the PC version for the most part. I also think we may see rent able servers at this point in time.
The only thing I don't like from the PC version is that tools with good enchants don't work on all materials. I supposed it is a good addition, but I just want to use pick or shovel for everything. Clogging up my inventory with an Axe is a bit bothersome.

Well said, That's what I'm trying to say all the time!
I know this is gonna make me super unpopular with everyone, but from what I've seen, I don't really care too much for different colored wood planks that don't stack with each other. Just kind of an overcomplication in my opinion.

Just my personal opinion.
I like your opinion. I think any thing that makes the game have more variety e.g New mobs, New blocks ect. Is a good thing
I just don't get why anyone wants to dumb down or reduce what we have, it really es me off that someone would say we don't need 'different colors of wood' or emerald blocks ect, these are the guys that are more pvp or casual player and need to get involved within the build process. To the more diehard builders and players out there these blocks are needed!
At the end of the day its all these blocks combined that make different makeups. I for one love different wood blocks and can't wait till they come to the xbox it means that buildings won't have the same character as every other building out there ect, and allows for many more diverse builds.
It boggles my mind where one is saying we don't need these blocks, if anything we should be screaming for more blocks, marble, slate, dirt that don't grow grass, different colors of glass, decorations like vases, flowerpots, milk jugs, ect. Not asking for less, come one get with the program here.
