I am somewhat confused as to how this server thing works. I have only played with friends over xbox live and it was just 2-3 of us at a time playing survival.
Can I enter creation mode while not connected to live and create a scape then make it into a server? Or is a server just "friends" playing on a world I made?
I personally think a server should be a small group of friends that you can play survival with, but of course, there are other's that think that servers are only for PVP with like 16 players, it honestly depends oh how you want to play the game.
To make a large/PVP server, you can do exactly what you said, just go into creative and shape the terrain however you want.
However currently, the only people that can join your server must be on your friends list.
