A large village on my map on an elevated position close to a cool split mountain; built my castle in between the mountain and fortified the village so it looks like the village is part of the castle grounds, pretty cool looking.
What's your seed? Is ther village and mountain near your spawn? My seed is 4977598642839364417, when you spawn look at your map there should be a huge lake near you so go towards it and eventually behind a mountain there's a river. I built a dock there.
Some of the terrain in 1.8+ is nice, but a lot of it just looks the same. I do however love strongholds, so much so I did one up.
Nice pics on the stronghold. I'm currently digging mine out of the mountain. My plan is to open up a large cavern and have supporting pillars holding up the stronghold so it looks like it was built in the cavern. Its on survival so its slow going but we've got about 50-60 percent of it dug out already.
I have a huge floating island in my map. So I built my house there. Underneath the island, there is a huge cavern with a waterfall. I built my wheat farm and my obsidian portal there. I also have a bunch of villages.
Worst thing about my map: The Nether is messed up. The stronghold has no blaze spawners and the windows are blocked by netherack.
It's likely that this seed will make a very different map right now. Since TU12, when jungles were introduced, the biomes and terrain generation has changed.
