The worlds that are being generated very rarely have EVERY type of biome, including villages, nether fortresses, and blaze spawners, and only much later on after hours of gameplay do players realize they will never get the FULL experience from their beautiful world they made and are forced to create a new world and carry on.
THE SOLUTION: Add an option that generates the world the way you want. For example: Before generating the world, there would be a list of biomes and a bar saying 0%-90%, allowing you to choose what biomes you want off and/or how much of each biome you want. This would solve a lot of problems and make the game better, because already ask any player and they will tell you they lost hours of work over worlds that were lacking.
Also, have the option to include at least 1 village, and 1 nether fortress, that way there the world will be sure to have one and no need for a new generated world.
In my opinion this would be one of the greatest updates yet, because my little siblings and I are tired of making new worlds and losing so much progress after finding out and saying to ourselves "The terrain is perfect but there's no nether fortress!" or "There's no mushroom biome but we did so much work" etc.
It is a good idea and had the same idea myself, just never knew how to put it. Would be quite useful in my opinion. For the exception that they are going to fix the nether fortress thing in the upcoming patch so that all worlds will have one.:D
To be able to have the % of each major biome would be nice.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
They're fixing the code this month anyways, so you should always get a blaze spawner and netherwart soon. Don't know about all of the other structures, but this has been talked to death for awhile now.
I think that, if it's at all practical to program this sort of feature into the XBox version, it would be a terrific way to compensate us for not being able to have unlimited worlds and having the option to "customize" our choice of biomes might even make it a better feature than having unlimited worlds, where you might have to walk for great distances just to find exactly what you're wanting anyways.

Or... they could just provide us with a website or program that we can input those parameters... and it would show us a list of seeds that closely resemble our parameters.
I got a 100% tundra biome. (Off the seeds list)
If they did it it should be 0-100% for each biome.
Maybe not 100% mushroom biome though then there'd be no hostile mobs.
Sounds great would definitely love a feature like this.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
what is so popular about mushroom biomes? i do like the idea of the op though
Mobs don't spawn on mycelium. Also, mooshrooms are the most readily source
of unlimited food available since they can be milked for soup.
As for the OP... as I stated earlier. We don't really need this implemented into the game. We just need some sort of database that will provide us with a list of seeds that will generate what we are looking for based on the parameters we provide.
I have learned to start any new world in creative and fly around and enter the nether. If i find it does not something i want i start again. If i find it has what i want i exit and get the seed info and start the map over in survival. I do not play in creative. THis works well for me because i like building cities in the middle of the ocean. This gives me full control of my world and environments. I hope this helps someone. Happy Mining.

So what challenge is there if you can always generate a "perfect" world?
Most people prefer building and such to hunting seeds, but There is still the challenge of how many hills do you want and where do want the village to spawn.

Still, most people choose a golf course without having to buy a ticket for each of them and walk all of them first-hand randomly. I don't think it would hurt the play of the game itself to allow players some ability to specify the sort of biomes they would like to have in their world rather than having them roll the dice and wind up rejecting random world after random world for hours and hours on end before starting to play.
I think this would also enable people to also quickly generate "special" worlds for certain themes and might encourage more people to do special theme maps from time to time (e.g. a world for a Christmas theme, a waterworld for a submarine themed map, etc.) For example, in all the time since the 1.8.2. update and even though I have randomly generated many, many new world, I have only generated 1 that had a significantly sized snow biome in it. It happened literally a day or two before the 1.0.1 came out and changed everything.
Furthermore, some people also really don't like certain biomes (e.g. I really dislike swamps), so they would like to be able to easily generate a world that intentionally skips out on one or two of the biomes rather than having to bug people here to post any world they might encounter that doesn't have the biome they don't want.
I don't think everyone is necessarily looking for "perfection," just something that would be a good fit with whatever ideas they have in their heads without all the time wasted just rolling the dice several times in a row. The challenge of playing the game would still be there.

Well, with a % of what you are looking for anyway, which is like fine tuning what you get of each, even if you select all.
Yes this is a very good point
I think that would take some of the fun out of it.
But, I love this idea:
40% Mushroom
60% Swamp
If they did it it should be 0-100% for each biome.
Maybe not 100% mushroom biome though then there'd be no hostile mobs.

-Generate seed in Creative.
-Check for fortress with everything.
-Check Overworld for everything.
-Confirmed, delete and recreate in survival.
But yes...I too agree with the idea.
Stay fluffy~
