In the pc version of the game, when you breed animals the baby is placed down with one of the parents, as in if the two animals are in mice carts then the baby will also be in one of the mine carts.
Now I've noticed while trying to make a breeding system that the baby's are somewhat shot out of the parents. Now as comical as this maybe, that means that they are being shot out of my 1x1x2 hole in my breeding system.
Ive not yet tried putting a block on top of them to serve as a roof, but I just wanted to point this out to anyone else who was wondering.
I haven't played the pc game, so if I'm mistaken about that please let me know.
All of my cows are being held in a 1 wide by 1 deep by 2 high space with a ladder underneath to stop them from falling all I have to do is spam wheat from underneath to get them to breed and spam them with my sword to kill them.
