After searching the forum for an answer, I've discovered that the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft does not have a normal 2x2 or 3x3 crafting window as the PC does. Unfortunately, I can't find a recipe on my Crafting Table for items such as Pumpkin Pie or a Carrot on a Stick, so I'm at a bit of a loss how to create these items. It may seem like a noob question, and it probably is, but is there any way, at all, to produce these, or is the Xbox 360 version unable to at this time?
And as a follow-up, will I need to make a new seed to be able to apply that update? I had heard once upon a December that seeds were locked to the updates that had already occurred, and they would be unable to apply new content.
No, they will not be. Those things were released with the Pretty Scary Update (1.4.2), which was only released in October. The Xbox version is only at 1.0.1 (PC equivalent). If I remember correctly, our next major update will be 1.2.1. Again, correct me if I'm wrong.
4J has a tendency to pick things from future updates and mix them with past updates. This is not the first time something like this has happened. It makes the XBOX version unique.

Both of you are WRONG! Also, 4J said after 1.2.3, they'll go on a different path, so probably no 1.3-1.4 stuff. And yes, your question is a very nooby one. Believe it or not, I dont even play PC. I just watch Captainsparklez, Antvenom, Chimneyswift etc.
I actually LOL'd when I read the title. Everyone and their grandmother knows what update we're on, and if you don't then it could literally take you 5 seconds to find you answer whether you type it in on google, youtube or even look it up on here.

It wasn't confusion over what update we're on, please do try to read the post. The question was asked because I was confused why the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft does not possss the same crafting windows that the PC version uses, and if there is a seperate way to craft items that cannot be crafted via table. No need for the unnecessary rudeness.

It was not unnecessary rudeness. I said I lol'd at the title. The Xbox never has, never will have the PC crafting menu. Everything that is craftable will be found at the crafting table. Plus the fact that you posted in the title you were unable to craft carrot on a stick basically proved you did not know which update we were on.

Then why did use stuff as examples that are not in MCXBLA and got everyone confused? You should have just used a sword or pick as an example.

Hang on, weren't glistering melons added way back in the beta days?
It was my understanding that they were added for the sole purpose of potion making.
You might be thinking of golden apples though...

it says the feature was added for the 1.0.0, the version that the XBOX is on now.
Unless you consider the Beta Days to be 1.0.0?
