I am a BOSS at easy mode. At one point I was in the top 300 players for kills on easy mode, until an update came that wiped me back to 1627. I have an adventure world, and I go hunting every night with my level 30 diamond sword with fire aspect and sharpness. I usually make it through the night no problem. The only mob that really can kill me is a creeper, and that is rare. I run around my hunting grounds killing everything I see, but I spare the passive mobs. That is all without armor of any kind. Before this update, I could easily do the same thing in the nether. It was best to do it in the nether because I got pork chops. from the pigmen. Ever since this update, they WAY bulked up the pigmen, they no longer dropped pork chops, and ghasts fireballs not only pack a punch, they also spread fire now. They also said they limited ghast spawns in the last update. If anything, they increased them. What do I do now? I can't kill monsters in the overworld 24/7, so now what? I have to leave nether hunting,and that was a big part of my agenda. How can I get cooked pork chops now? That was all I ever lived on. I am still not willing to kill pigs or cows.

Us pc users, thats how we've gotten food for over a year, the PC version equivalent was the first time I played, and porkchops wern't dropped by zombie pigmen, but if I was dumb enough to attack one with a stone sword, I would get a rotten flesh. Now you don't like they put it in XBox, well sorry, but this is how PC was. Ghast spawning, I don't know, but I think it's the same as PC but the nether is much smaller, so all the spawns are condensed. Also, ghast fireballs have spread fire since alpha on PC, I saw an old lets play about the nether litterally started at midnight, on the halloween update, and the ghast fireballs spread fire.
You complain about it getting to hard? On PC forum sections, one of the most common complaints is it is too easy!

(But, tbh, I don't think it really matters where you are in the league tables, and no respect to you, but if you are running round just killing mobs each night it doesn't prove anything. . . did you build a massive casle or city with shops, farms, blacksmiths etc while killing? It just proves that you can kill lots of zombies. )
Agree with the nether though. I'm not going there until the next bug fix is out, where hopefully they will reduce the Ghast spawn rate.

OP, the easiest way to get food is to kill pigs and cows. If I remember right, this will also reduce the number of mobs in your 'hunting grounds', if you do it just before nightfall, meaning that more aggressive mobs may spawn.
just get fire resistance potion and pretty much nothing can hurt you down there.. also fire enhanced swords are no bueno down there.
Thought I mentioned that I was using the nether on this world long before the last update, so there are no nether fortresses, no blazes, and therefore, no brewing:( to post 5, please don't be rude on this topic. I don't want it to be shut down by the staff because of it. I don't really agree with him, but you don't really see me telling him to leave. I know that there is a rule that is violated there.
I have XBox, and what I'm saying is this is what the 8 million some odd PC users have had to deal with for over 1 year. I'm also saying complaining about it being hard is ironic, considering PC users say it's too easy. I also said why the ghasts are almost everywhere, and your not supposed to really attack pigmen on PC without a good sword and full iron armor+.
And currentley XBox is following everything with PC, except superflat and a couple other things came early.

Yep, in PC thats how it is. Now, pigmen only drop crap, gold ingots and rotten flesh, so why kill them? They don't attack you if you don't attack them. Ghasts, I was saying they spawn the same, but since the nether doesn't have a limit, they are condensed. Ghasts fireballs have created fire since the halloween update, and the nether is supposed to be, watch your step anywhere.

I love the nether now. People complain about there being 'too many' ghasts, but what do you expect? It's supposed to be Hell. You are supposed to be scared sh*tless of walking back into fire while fighting off a horde of fireballs. Thats what makes the nether worth it. Hunting in the overworld is terribly predictable and easy. It takes you like a night of hunting and you already know how to kill things while taking the least damage possible. And I didnt really like the porkchops being dropped by pigmen. I'd much rather get their gold to make golden apples than porkchops that I know I can breed up on the surface. (Not that you need to with the ridiculous amount of passive spawns right now anyway). So what do you do now? Put on some armor and get back to hunting in the nether. No sense in quitting just because of a little added challenge.

The ONLY thing that needs to change about the nether is the fortress spawning, that's it, everything else is fine, and if ghasts are really being a problem, bring a bow and some arrows.
If you want to kill pigmen, find a place where ghasts cant shoot you, build a 5 block high netherrack tower to stand on, then shoot a pigman with your bow and arrow, the rest should come toward you, kill them in the same way, simple and easy.

You are probably referring to it while wearing armor, but armor is for wimps on easy mode. Also, before this update, I was able to destroy mob after mob because there was no fire. Now fire is a big problem.

i have to agree when you say it doesnt matter where you are on the leaderboards,the top is mostly just hackers,so yeah,thats just my opinion.ill probably get hated on now

Armor is for wimps yet you're playing on easy? Did I miss something? I believe the word Easy already implies that it's EASY regadless of your armor situation. If you want a challenge play on Hard and force yourself to delete your world if you die.
Kids who care about leaderboards always crack me up. They never seem to realize that they won't ever reach #1 because chances are the top 100+ are cheaters. Every leaderboard system in any game you can think of is broken. Where there are "leaderboards" there's always a cheater trying to be the "best". If 4J was smart they would just remove them altogether, and stop giving these idiots publicity.
And the Nether isn't what it used to be. Pigmen has really slowed down with spawning and Ghasts make it a pain.
