Hi guys, ok since I have a 3D TV I came with the idea that minecraft for the Xbox should be made 3D capable, like the halo anniversary, it would look so awesome what do you think?
Ummm... look at the pc version.. that is how they did it... Anyway in my opinion I am not really fond of the idea, even in theatres because it seems like that is all they ever want us to watch is a 3D version of the movie instead of the movie itself. That and the fact it is not True 3D. It would have to be a hologram similar to how the star wars movies do it in their battle console to be pretty close to true 3D.
But if you want to see an example of 3D in minecraft I would suggest seeing the PC version as they have had that option for a while now...O_o

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Yes I know I have the pc version but its 3D anaglyph not 3D SBS witch is much better, also I don't know why but my minecraft for PC crashes :S (might be for too many mods i think) and its a laptop i5 with 4 GB DDR3 but the problem is the intel graphic card, and the iPad version after a while playing it gets boring that's why I bought the Xbox version to play online because the PC keeps crashing
In response to the OP:
I just got a 3DTV as well. However, my TV comes with an option to convert 2D programming in 3D programming. It's a bit buggy, but sometimes it's amazing. And guess where I use the feature the most? For Minecraft. I tried watching regular TV in 3D and it was just meh, nothing too exciting. Even Black Ops 2 wasn't that impressive. But I switched on that bad boy for Minecraft... and I genuinely believe my jaw touched the ground.
I play Minecraft in 3D all the time now. Most of you guys are going to be nonbelievers because you haven't seen it. But if you ever get a chance, try it out. I turned on creative mode and flew around the world for at least 30 minutes. It was that amazing. Call 3D a gimmick or whatever other word you choose, but the Minecraft world wasn't flat anymore. It was like somebody put a box in my room instead of a TV. When you fly around in creative, and look down directly below you, you can see which mountains are taller. When you're on the ground and walk close to a dirt block you can sort of see the corner pop out a little bit. If you look at the sky it seems endless, you feel tiny in the Minecraft world. If you sink to the bottom of an ocean and look up, you have more of a feel of how deep you're actually in. Sometimes you just want to climb the tallest mountain and look around you just for the view. I know most of you already do that sometimes while playing in 2D but imagine the same feeling 50x in 3D.
Will 4J ever add an option for 3D? Probably not. But I can wish. My TV does a very good job of simulating 3D. I could only imagine the possibilities if it was actually implemented in the game. I didn't spend all this time writing this because the 3D was simply a gimmick or did nothing. If you ever get the chance, please do try it.
As for the OP, if you have a Samsung, Panasonic, or Sony 3DTV you should have option of turning 2D to 3D conversion.
No disrespect to you, but if I wanted to see which mountains were taller, or feel how deep I was in water, I would go for a walk outside. Or take a swim. I'm sure the technology is great, but it is fake 3D. Look out of your window. I play games to escape from reality, to relax a while. I wouldn't want to make one of my favorite games more realistic or life like, cause then I'd just be living my life on the couch. Make sense?

I knew at the time of posting this somebody would respond with "I have an imagination." And no, your response doesn't make sense. I play games to get immersed in worlds that do not exist, as you do as well. By realistic, I do not mean it's more like reality. I mean it's more feasible. It is a mini world that does exist. I'm sorry you're jealous of my TV.

Lol.
Welcome to the forums OP!
In all seriousness, I don't see how 3D would work on MC. .. maybe the arrows from skeletons.

My imagination does this for me.
