Ninth: Add dispensers to the back of the top row of blocks. You'll notice an extra block of space which is acceptable.
Tenth: Pushing a button will prove how it works just like CNB's.
Eleventh: Just like CNB, put a torch behind the top lever, a block on the bottom with a repeater facing away from the bottom lever, and a piston with three sand blocks next to the repeater block.
Making a water flow requires some modification from CNB's. I made this quickly, so I'm sure someone will make a better one. Or, you could say that the items fall out of the stone head's nose and you have to "punch" it's teeth to get your potions! X'D
Lastly: a picture showing that it works just like CNB's!
I hope someone can (mostly likely will) make a more efficient and space-saving version that what I'd made! Just thought this might help.
When the neckbearding is done, can someone add what the point of the contraption is? Bandwidth is limited.
fill it up with potion ingredients, then when you want to make a potion, pull levers for added effects (potency etc) and then push button for potion type and it drops all the ingredients required to make said potion (bar the water)
It drops the items that are necessary for brewing. If you push a button it'll drop all items required for a selected potion. You have to flip a switch if you want to increase the potency or duration, make a splash effect, or reverse the effects. Sorry I didn't mention that earlier (I was in a hurry...).

I may be missing the point. .. . . no good with redstone. . . but wouldn't it be easier to have a chest next to your brewing stand, with all the ingredients in, then just make it the old fasioned way? You could even organise your chest with ready made potions on the top row, with the ingredients needed underneath each one. Like I do. No memory needed then.
Seems to me like this machine just drops out ingredients, but thats it?
Can you make one that drops out ready made potions . . . or builds a house for me?
(As said above, useless with redstone contraptions)

Well yes, you could make one that dispenses the already-made potions. Also, yeah, it's easier just to put the items in a chest, but this is Minecraft! Redstone may be semi-pointless but the things you can do with it is what makes me very interested in making pointless contraptions!
of course you could do that, but this way I get just the right number of ingredients I need (and I dont have to try and remember each time which ingredients I want for what)

It makes things slightly easier, especially if you can't remember potion recipes very well. But that's not the point. The purpose of building it is just that, to build it. Attempt to take any of the machines I've built and find a use for them that is actually practical to survival mode. Go ahead, I dare you.

I understand that side of it. As I said, I'm useless with redstone, so wouldn't even try to make something like that.
I remember potion recipes by 'stacking' the ingredients in my chest. So in column 1 of the chest, I'd have the made up potion, then underneath it I'd have all the ingredients.
I think the only redstone contraptions that I'd make is things like double opening iron doors (Which I still can't do), or piston bridges etc.
Also before people post threads, does anyone ever read the other ones, to make sure there is not another one like it?
A lot of people don't use the search bar, then some people do search but the existing thread happens to be worded differently and they miss it. I've done this myself, that's why I now search a few different terms that may bring up a similar topic to the one I plan on starting. OP knows about the thread with the user who needed a workaround for CNB's potion lab, and they stated this. But the title was vague and OP felt this was deserving of its own thread. The problem is that they overestimated how useful this would be to the community. No offense OP, I understand you were only trying to be helpful and contribute to the forum. But yes, you could say this thread is borderline redundant, but it still benefits a few people.

Minecraft is an extremely subjective game, people do things because they want to. That's really all there is to it, there isn't any real purpose to any of it. When you think about it, there's no real point to playing any videogame, other than the fact that it's fun. It kind of confuses me when people ask "why?" about the crazy things we build with redstone, and demand a survival-practical use for it to be worth their interest. I built a CPU for the same reason one would build a mansion/castle/fortress/pixel art/city/statue, because it was a cool idea and sounded like fun. Nobody asks how the latter would be useful to a game played in survival mode. When you think about it, everything I listed would be useless and wasteful in a survival game, and would only serve the purpose of being pretty to look at. You don't see me on a castle thread or whatever saying: "Cool build, but can it process data based on logical, mathematical, and bitwise functions to perform complex algorithms?"
If you think about it, iron doors and piston bridges are also pointless to the survival aspect. If someone truly wants to play survival mode efficiently, they might as well just dig a hole in the ground, call it home, and start collecting stuff. Building structures is just wasting time that could be spent mining or cutting down trees. But if you play that way, then what's the point of collecting resources? The whole game is pointless!
Although you were disagreeing with me, kind of, it did make sense and I do agree with you, but at the same time disagree . . . if that makes sense.
I understand why some people build these things. Sometimes it does make me jealous, (maybe not the right word, but), that I can't build them myself. TBH, I've not put that much effort into building redstone things, but after I finish my current building ( ), I may try a few.
All games are pointless, but are fun : Agree wholeheartedly. I'm 30, but still play games in a way to escape life. Hey, I can build a castle on MC . . .can't really do that.
Maybe I should study redstone more, before commenting?

Building redstone machines is fun and challenging, that's why it's the only thing I do in Minecraft. Never in your life will you find a better problem solving exercise than redstone engineering. It's not only fun, it also serves as an incredible learning tool. Redstone is easy to learn and impossible to master. It can be as simple as a piston door/light switch, or as complex as a functional Turing-complete computer. If you want, I could show you a couple videos that helped me get started with redstone.

First: Watch CNB's video and build up to 2:13. ( )
Second: Put a row of six blocks, covered with a redstone wire, behind the torches. (Just like CNB.) Sorry about the snow... :'(
Third: On the top layer of "wool" put four more blocks, centered.
Forth: Add two blocks at the ends of the redstone line with redstone on top of them.
Sixth: Add eight blocks connecting the font row and the two floating blocks.
Seven: Add restone (two dust) from the floaters.
Eight: Add four blocks at the end with redstone creating a loop.
Tenth: Pushing a button will prove how it works just like CNB's.
Eleventh: Just like CNB, put a torch behind the top lever, a block on the bottom with a repeater facing away from the bottom lever, and a piston with three sand blocks next to the repeater block.
Twelfth: Add three blocks as shown with redstone.
Fourteenth: Add blocks, repeaters, and redstone as shown.
Fifteenth: Put a block on top of the lone torch with a glass block on top of that.
Sixteenth: Place a redstone torch on the last solid block you placed (like CNB did).
Eighteenth: Place two sand blocks on top of the piston.
Nineteenth: Add some blocks, repeaters, and restone as the picture shows.
Twentieth: Invert steps eleven to nineteen on the opposite side and fill in the blanks on the front.
Lastly: a picture showing that it works just like CNB's!
I hope someone can (mostly likely will) make a more efficient and space-saving version that what I'd made! Just thought this might help.
He was just trying to help.
