anyone have any suggestions on how to create the best possible Enchantment Room to get the highest level of enchanments?
I did a google search, and even a youtube search but couldnt come up with much results.
Thanks for any help!
AQny links to tutorials, or further info would be greatly appreciated!
This works just fine:
The chest isn't needed. just something I put there.
It gets you the highest level enchantment
(Unless the xbox version needs more. Not sure since I don't play. Just guessing it's the same. If this doesn't get the highest level put another layer exactly like it on top)

I can confirm that. It's the same setup i use and i can get my level 30 enchants with it!
The highest level on XBOX 360 is 30 and I think PC version will be going to 30 from 40 I think. I could be wrong.
unsure about that... I do know they use to be 50 max before the 1.4 update I believe... hmm... wonder what would be the reasoning if they re-put 10 more levels in..O_o no matter... what we have is fine for the moment. I just hope they do not make silk touch rare like it is on the pc version, which makes it almost pointless to even get it sometimes or rather too much work for something so simple....

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
http://www.minecraft...tment_Mechanics has a lot of information that applies to either platform, but when it comes to enchanting, your set-up is really about what enchantments you want to get. brukkeboy is correct. I've tested his theory on both the XBox and the PC. More bookshelves often result in better the enchantments. I do believe it's an intentional game design. My enchantment rooms, regardless of the platform, always look like what i posted in the spoiler. The pic is from the PC (note the redstone lamps ;-) ), but i use the same set-up on the XBox.

~My problem is a simple one: I'm severely allergic to stupid.~
Do you have to have one block of air around the enchanment table or do you think you can have 2 blocks of air?
I know it's an easy fix but when designing my enchanment hall, I left 2 spaces of air
I usually do a 4x4x4 Room with an opening on one end to get inside. I also add floors and a roof of bookshelves for maximum enchanting. I always get Level 30 Enchantments.

I hope they do make Silk Touch a little more rare than it currently is. The past 3 pick axes I've enchanted have all had Silk Touch on them. A little frustrating when you're trying to get a back up for your Fortune III pick. Actually, I'm finding Silk Touch to be kind of pointless in this version of MC. It doesn't serve any useful purpose for me. When Ender chests come into play then it will be a necessity. Right now, I could care less if I ever get a Silk Touch pick again. Anybody want to buy one from me? lol

Here's a link with 2 different pictures of how to place bookshelves, and a description of some mechanics. Hope it helps
HOUSESL4UGHT3RHOU53GANGThanks man,
thanks for all the help to all!
The bookshelves are stacked three high, and the chest is obviously the enchanting table.
