Anybody have problems with Blaze mobs not spawning. I searched my local Nether Fortress top to bottom and found no blaze mob spawner. Also there are no blazes naturally spawning arround the fortress.
Haveing this same problem. I even tried the same seed in creative and there were tons of blazes. Put in the seed again on survival and no blazes at all. Same seed so whats the problem.

can you give me your seed and location of the fortress, ps if you make a map in the nether it works like a map IN THE NETHER. it's preey cool, so please give me both locations.
blaze at the moment don't naturally spawn...O_o In a later update maybe they will but not in the current one... Only from spawners unfortunately. But a good way to tell whether there is a spawner in the fortress, is to go into creative easy and look around... if you see blazes roaming around then there is a spawner nearby or or around that area somewhere. At least from my experience.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Oh I was under the impression they spawn naturally. I'll give your idea a shot. I honestly don't wanna spawn items in from creative mode. Thx
There is a problem with blazes not spawning in survival mode. According to the 4j twitter feed there will be a patch/update in January fixing this problem however you WILL need to start a new map after downloading the patch/update.
I've had this problem too and I'm so bummed I already had to make another world since the last update and I get an amazing seed I find a stronghold/ end portal the first place I dig than I actually find a nether fortress but no blaze spawner/blaze so I was told to look for another fortress a million pickaxes later no luck so I'm seriously going to have to start a new world for this problem to be resolved??? I don't want to look in creative mode that kills the point of the game for me and I don't want to start a new world so much time and effort and two worlds just to have to start another
Same problem here aswell, but a little different. After having a previous seed with no nether fortress spawning at all, I decided to make a new one and use creative mode to make sure that there was blazes spawing. After everything checked out, I thought I had found the perfect seed and relaoded it from scratch in survival/normal. A few days have past and have finally made it to the nether, blazes in sight. With the abundance of ghasts around, I decided to the leave game and enter in peacefull dificulty so that I could safely build a CS hut around my portal. Entered back in normal mode, but the blazes were no where in sight. Went in and out of the portal several times, and nothing. Exited game, re-entered and still nothing. The next day I tried again hoping for some magic, and now my game crashes when I try to enter the nether. The game just locks up as soon as it hits the "loading the nether" screen. Pretty bummed
I am having the same problem. I found the nether fortress but no blaze spawner. I went to creative on a new game with the same seed and found it. But on survival on the original seed its not there. Hopefully a patch will put it in the correct place eventually?

I have the same problem in reverse. Seed created in creative mode and/or in survival mode but used creative before entering nether - fortress is there, but blaze spawner is not both times. Seed created in survival mode and maintained in survival mode - both fortress and blaze spawner are there.
Seed No. 96414766889474996 (i.e. tutorial numerical seed, generated without the actual tutorial). Nether location of blaze spawner X-118, Y78, Z-64. This spawner generates in the same place when the world is accessed through the tutorial and there is an "easter egg" chest located near it. (The tutorial itself does have additional code that disables the generation of certain "easter egg" chests if the tutorial is left before some of the chests are located (i.e. if the player shifts into creative mode and/or peaceful mode); and I am suspicious that this overrride coding may be creating this particular spawning bug even when the numerical seed is generated and possibly even in other worlds.)
Hey thanx for the reply UpUp. My hopes of having a clean spawner are dwindling. Since the override coding that created the problem is set during generation, the spawner will never be fixed in my world. As the case of other worlds remaining unchanged after updates. Am I right?

I'm honestly not sure at all with this bug... Worlds using the same seed are generating differently on different systems, so it could be that the bug fix will insert a spawner where there wasn't one before... I just don't know. SlippedGear just checked out the spawner on the numerical tutorial seed and got it to generate every time in both creative mode and survival mode. On my XBox, I can't get it to generate in creative mode, only in survival mode... and then... what most people are reporting are that spawners generating in creative mode and not in survival mode.
THEN, to top it all off, I have my mysterious disappearing Mineshaft... which came and went in the same world (not a remake). I generated the tutorial through the tutorial, wandered around in survival to lock in the generation of the world. Then, I saved and exited, then re-entered in creative mode, found a mineshaft I knew was there. Then, I exited without saving and re-entered a second time in creative mode... and that time, the Mineshaft was not there. I did this exact procedure twice just to confirm it. (NB: This one IS in the actual tutorial, so it does definitely have override coding placed there by 4J for the purpose of their 12 music disc chests, so it may or may not extend to the same seed if the world is not generated as the tutorial itself).
It is a real puzzle. If anyone wants to run tests of their own, purposefully starting seeds where you know structures are located to see if they come and go in different modes, please feel free to do so. I am curious if we can track down a trigger for these events occurring on some systems and not others and in some worlds and not others... but of course, this is a time consuming thing so only start doing it if you're as curious as I am.

Will it work if you have not loaded your map's Nether yet?
I just asked this in another thread...
I haven't found an answer yet but there's some hope for us in this post.
"Funny! Because if I save and reload before I enter the nether it spawns different each time..." http://www.minecraft.../#entry19784585
I guess it depends if the terrain generation code is written into the world save file when created or if it uses the updated game code at the time the nether is generated by entry through a portal.
Somewhat, yes. I also think this particular bug is making the generation code somewhat unstable(?). If you have a world where you've already put in some work and then felt you had no blaze spawner in the Nether, I would still hang onto it until after the bug fix. The bug fix may not help... but it also might and it can't make it any worse.
Alternatively, if you want a pure survival world now to work on, I would generate a world seed where someone has given the coordinates of a blaze spawner. I would then calculate a location in the overworld to place the portal such that you spawn in the nether near where the blaze spawner should be and build a molded portal (it's generally quicker to gather the iron for buckets than diamonds for a pickaxe). Save once you have the portal built but before you enter the nether. Then go into the nether and see if the spawner has generated for you. If it has, save again. That should lock in the spawner. If it hasn't, try exiting without saving and re-entering the nether. If it's like my Mineshaft (only in reverse), it may just appear there the second time around (NB: Of course, I'm not sure about anything, but here's hoping that my disappearing Mineshaft issue in the tutorial world is connected to this blaze spawner thing.)

I always go into Creative and look for a Blaze Spawner platform.
I found one once, but it was empty. I re-created the world in Survival and it was there.
Stay fluffy~
