I made a bow that has Punch II and I know the sword can get a similar effect. I can't tell if it's useful or annoying. I think it would be more useful with your sword, since you might be getting swarmed by zombies or something. But with the bow, you're typically already at a decent distance. And you can knock the mob off a ledge and lose out on the XP and the drops.
So what's your opinion, are these enchantments good or should you aim for an enchantment combo without them?
Something like that, for a bow, would definitely be more useful in PVP combat. Or any kind of multiplayer for that matter. It would most certainly help when you're giving a buddy some cover fire.
I have not tried it with a bow yet but found it useful with a sword against a mojority of enemies apart from the creeper only because I like to kill them fast but can not do a double hit as easy with Knockback as I used too.
For bows, it's EXTREMELY useful. You won't have to worry about creepers anymore with a bow with Punch. For swords, it can be annoying at times when you are hunting because the animals go flying. But it's useful against multiple enemy mobs. It's a matter of opinion, but I prefer the sword with knockback because it's funny to see a mob go flying off a cliff.

Retired StaffIn Multi-player, especially PvP, any form of shoving someone else away is very useful. Just climb a moutain and punt them off with your sword or bow.
