you are lucky to even found a fortress... I can't seem to find one... tried 8-9 different worlds...><
All I can say is when you find stairs in the fortress take them... it is the only way to find them.. plus have you tried digging around in the nether rack in and around the fortress... Sometimes there is other pieces of the fortress hidden that way, unlike my worlds which have no obvious signs of a fortress...

That depends on the overworld... as that is usually what I look at first... I mean the first two that were mentioned that started with 7 in the seed threads were ok... as one i liked the over world, but the fortress was well lacking... and the second one I liked the fortress but the overworld just was not good enough... In a way it is not fun finding those stuff using coords... just would be nice that when i actually go into the nether I would find one on the map that I want to play on...
The only thing I would use a nether fortress for would be the blazes and warts... if not deconstruct everything and bring back to the overworld... Thanks anyway...:D

Please help, I am having the same problem with my world. My seed is: 8220047931453968530
The coordinates for the nether portal placement are x:66, y:69, and z:232

This issue is over 2 years old... I'm pretty sure that it's a non-issue anymore...especially since nether wart now grows outside the nether fortress and I haven't had any problems with finding nether wart within the fortress in any of my worlds recently...and if I couldn't find nether wart, I'd be abel to reset the nether.
As you can see in my picture i am looking at soul sand, and in the background is my nether fortress, however, my nether fortress didnt have any nether warts, but on this patch of soul sand it had 17 pieces (as you can see in my inventory.) I found 2 other patches like this later on, these "patches" spawn near/ on the walls of bedrock. Just search around for soul sand, and you might find some.

FYI, soul sand can spawn anywhere in the nether AND netherwart can spawn any where there is soul sand. The walls of bedrock have absolutely nothing to do with it.

That depends on the overworld... as that is usually what I look at first...
