I was playing my survival world last nite and I kinda realized that when the moon was @ lunar eclipse or at quarter moon, there were less mobs in general throught the night. Ive been going out at night hunting mobs for their xp, when it was a full moon there was alot of everything, zombies, creepers, spiders. Maybe its just me but has anyone experienced this?
I just noticed that the moon isn't just a full moon every night too. Great addition. The first time I noticed the moon looked odd to me with a big dark square in the middle. First thought was great the moon is bugged now. But then I realized a couple nights later in was like a quarter moon and i starting thinking wow we have lunar cycles and what I saw the other night was a lunar eclipse. Pretty neat stuff.
Haven't noticed any difference with the mobs and the lunar cycle but will start paying closer attention now.
I also felt that th emoon had some infulence in the amount of creatures about at night. I even started to notice that if I watched the moon cycle I felt that certain creatures spawned more often with certain moons? Could be just the long hours playing but let's keep an open eye for it?
Never noticed this before, have to play a bit more survival then
I hoped this is an implemented feature not just a bug as it kind gives it a more mythical feel as most of our "monsters" (Vampires,Werewolf..) are told to come out at night.
I wonder what other new "mini" features people can find hiding in minecraft?
Someone will have to check by counting the amount of each type of mob in an area, during each lunar cycle, over a couple of days/weeks of play. That way, there will be an exact count for each cycle. Only way to know.
If this isn't done, then it could just be down to the amount of passive mobs in the area at the time, reducing the agressive mob count.
