I know the end portal is already there but I was wondering if we were going to have to wait for the next update for the actual End or will it come out in between now and the next update
4J haven't confirmed this. All they have said about the next update is it will feature fixes for the bugs in TU7, and will be released in January sometime.
I'm pretty sure they confirmed the end would be in TU8. Don't feel like searching for the source, but pretty sure it's on their Twitter feed.

The patch that is going to come out next is most likely just to patch up the current update to work better for the populous...
