So, as you may know, if you press start, it brings up a menu, but it doesn't pause the action. I wish there was a way to pause the game so that you can go and take like a 5 minute break or something without having to save and exit.

I noticed that too... I wonder if the hostile mobs can still hurt you while paused. I saw pigs moving about.. but hmm does farming still take place while paused? So many questions!!

A friendly suggestion, use dirt or gravel, built a small shelter, one side 3 blocks tall, and the other 1-3 sides two blocks tall. Cover your head (not with gravel or sand), and place a torch at your feet. This way, you're safe. Just when you get ready to leave, break the bottom block first to see if you can see any feet scampering out there.
If you are playing online, you're running a "server". It wouldn't work for that fact alone since if the host paused, everyone playing with that host would be forced to pause.
If you really want to pause, play an offline game, when online you are a server, which cannot be paused.
Ahh, i was about to say I have never had this problem, when I pause everything pauses but I only play offline so thanks for posting that.
The only issue i have is when you pause the game the "auto save" is still in effect and if you have it auto saving every 15 minutes and have it paused for 20 mins once you unpause it saves. This kind of scares me a bit if I pause the game and not come back to it and just shut the xbox off could it corrupt my save file because I turned the xbox off while it was gettign ready to auto save. Def too scared to experiment with that one

I'm not sure if you lose anything, I've been in a boat for days exploring an ocean world and never lost hunger, so maybe that translates to not moving

Oh that makes sense.. I just started this new world on my gamertag as opposed to my son's who doesn't have gold.. So i must be "online"
