Hey guys I've been enjoying breeding and enchanting and all that but I still feel as though creative is lacking something. I watch a LOT of videos on youtube and get inspired by a guy called madnes64 to build epic things, but when I play minecraft I realize how limited we are compared to the pc version. I have here a small list (I don't know if 4j reads these forums much at all but here ya go) of things I would like brought forward, should we go our own way after 1.2 as was originally thought.
1. A bunch of the creative mode options like sideways logs, corner stairs, upside down stairs, and walls. Maybe an option to turn them off should people only want to use them every so often so it wouldn't be a hassle trying to place blocks.
2. item frames, fireworks, and a bunch of the other cool small things from the recent updates for the pc. I like the addition of fireworks for some reason.
3. I know this requires commands on the pc, but I was in creative mode trying to light up my place and all the sudden the sun comes up and I have to wait all day. How about an option in creative mode to toggle the day and night cycle to one or the other, or maybe switch on the fly in the options menu???
Just a few things I wanted from Minecraft. My laptop is garbage and won't run it, but somehow it will run sid meir's civilization 4, and sims 3 without a hitch. hmmm. who knows... Anyways, what do you guys want in the next updates?
We will get the upside down things in the next update for sure, but we may never get things like fireworks, as they are added after 1.2.3, and is up to 4J whether they want to add it.
*You could just watch MCPE videos and appreciate how much more we have than they do.
* Your post indicates the problem- watching those videos have given you a champagne taste on a beer budget. But you're running MC at 60 fps and they're not.
* You might get some of the things you're asking for in the future. OR you could get better things you haven't even seen yet! Wouldn't that tick the PC people off….
Geneo I agree with you. I just don't think it would hinder the game too much to add in the creative freedoms that the pc has. How much ram can it possibly use up to just turn a block on its side? I don't know, maybe i'm off with this but if the xbox can run COD at 60 a second then surely it could run minecraft with all the things I want in.

And you can't run minecraft...O_o My computer would barely run Sims 3. I can run minecraft, but usually it is at 20-43 fps. Which I consider decent enough to play. Civilization 4 doesn't really compare to Sims 3, as it is for the most part a turn-based strategy... Sure they added a bit of realtime stuff, but still is tb, since you can pause and do stuff ahead of time still. Civilization V I hardly know anything about, however it might be on par with sims 3 from my understanding... At least how much the specs say.
As far as a mega update... Thought that was what 1.8.2 was... O_o The one we just got is what you would call a gift.:D hopefully some of the things are fixed or worked around...
I wouldn't mind half that stuff, but only time will tell if they do decide to add some of that... Hopefully they will bring forward colored wood (ie Colored planks/stairs/slabs) That is one thing that peaks my interest as much as upside down stuff and sideways stuff...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Yeah I don't know maybe thats something I could get solved on here. I run a compaq laptop with windows 7 and play sims 3 and civ4 all the time but can't play minecraft. which sucks so bad.

hmm... that is odd... although windows 7 has had some problems with it, but should have been able to run it... Do you have java installed to the latest.
Also is your compaq 32bit or 64bit... that matters when installing java and its updates.... just curious.. but that is the only thing I can think of....
My computer actually is on xp which utilizes less ram than win7, but since you are able to play sims 3 ram is not the problem...hmm... After all the minecraft pc version is a bit more buggy than the xbox version right now at least for those computers that can barely keep up with it...

I'm not sure about the 64 or 32 bit thing I'll have to check it. I'm almost positive my Java is installed correctly but it still lags like nobody's business.

Yeah ever since the 1.3.2 update single player lags more. Unsure about multiplayer, as that has been pretty much the same if not getting worse with the more things they add to the game. Like I said I barely get a 20-40 fps with mine... which is still pretty laggy but feasible enough for me to play. hmm... And yeah just be sure the correct version of java is installed is a must... as I have heard those with a 64 bit computer running a 32 bit java have had many problems.... and prone to sometimes crashing due to that fact. Not always though, but best to have the correct one though... That is one reason for most of the customization in the options menu, which helps me get those fps I have. Although still not understanding a few of them, but I'll figure em' out eventually...

And then some cool exclusives but there's bound to be more I want from the PC version in future updates soon enough.
