I built an XP Farm using the 4 canal method (Where all the mobs drop into a hole). Mobs rarely fall down the hole/spawn, I cannot figure out why. Yes, I'm close enough, but not too far away. And yes, I've lit up all nearby caves/dark spots. Does anyone know why not many mobs are spawning in it?
P.S. About every five minutes a zombie/skeleton falls down.
hmm... xp farm off a mob machine is really not the best idea... I would suggest finding a dungeon. Those are better for that purpose. Especially the cave spiders...:D
The best xp things are spawners, and when the end comes then enderman in the nether would be if done right. Mob machines are better for items rather than xp. That is if you want to gain quickly...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I got a skeleton spawner 9x9 the diamond thing and all that it works for like 2 skeleton then they stop also for some retarded reason they wont look at me im 8-10 block close
Well has any tried the old style boxing the spawner in like a dungeon, and then flushing the floor in one direction to a 2 high drop that has another water stream the leads them off to one side, and into and away from the spawner. After all the mobs need to be a certain distance away from their own spawner for it to continue to spawn... hm... well the killing center should be within 16 i think is the range at which the spawner activates and keeps going...
I only would use the diamond shape trap for a regular mob machine...O_o
makes me wonder though if something was changed about the spawners from what many people have been saying...
