My villagers tend to either stay indoors all the time or wander off and not come back, they go pretty far when they wander. At night no mobs attack them and on hard mode there is no zombie sieges. Should I reinstall the game?

No, you should prolly read the spec on the equivalent PC version. zombie sieges came out later than 1.0 which is what the xbox just updated to.
I couldn't tell you what the mob behavior was on the PC. It sounds goofy, but that may also be as initially programmed. Or its a bug.
Zombie sieges didn't happen till like the pc 1.3 update. So it is 50-50 if we will get those or not... And far as the villagers are concerned, yeah they do that... They have done that one the initial release of them on the pc as well.
Which means if you don't want them dieing off camera and out of town then fence in the place or lock them inside their house...><
