Hello people of minecraft forums I am thinking about starting a minecraft world that has to do with RPGing. What i want to do is create a town that people can live in, specific jobs people can hold, and much more. The only thing stoping me from starting this is that I don't want to do it for no reason and i want to know if people would want to join this world of mine. I think people would like is not restricting it to my town. Players can go off on their own if they want and go to differen't parts of the map and build their own town to increase the amout of player that could play. What i encurage players to do is treat it as their own fantasy adventure so I am going to build towers caves and dungons that player can explor and find treasures in. Basially you can do whatever you want in this (except go agains my rules witch i will post in a moment). You can't go destroying random blocks in structures or caves or anything. If you break this one rule you will be kicked from the world. That's all please reply on this post saying you would like to join so I can create the world. I can't wait and I really want to create it thank you for your time.

Here's some tips:
Don't have a currency in Minecraft. Just have trades like "I need more iron" "that's great because I have a bunch of iron and I need wood!"
Just keep it simple and no freaking money for trades like using gold ingots as money.
Let people build what they want, don't tell them they can't make a rainbow wool house or can't make a red brick dungeon.
Just let them unless it is a massive retard cluster of lava all over the place.
No rules about replanting trees once their cut down, just make it a guidline kind of like a manner.
The only reason you should EVER ban someone is if they do any of the following;
1. INTENTIONALLY Grief another players buildings.
2. Swear like a ****ing sailor at every ****ing thing they can. (Give 3 warnings.)
3. Just being severely obnoxious and annoying.
4. Always ban squeakers under the age of 13. Unless their very quiet and don't really talk.
That's my only advice. Don't force strict things on people. Just set guidelines.
Especially currency. Currency will turn your friends into secret griefers.
I would know. I had an incident in one of my worlds where some kid was a lazy poor kid with no currency so he secretly planted TNT under the entire city and blew it up, no one saw it coming.
I'm sorry if this isn't allowed to be said, but I kind of want to through a dictionary at this guys head.
But first build it and show us some screenshots.
It's throw, not through. If you're going to correct someone make sure you do it right.
Anyways in regards to the OP, I agree that you should never use a currency. Often times the currency is worth lless than what you're buying, so there's no real point to even trade. On the other hand if you stick to the normal trade system then both individuals get something they need and everyones happy.
Another thing I would suggest is to limit the amount of jobs you can have in the world. If a job is pointless no ones going to want to do it, and therefore it shouldn't be used to begin with. Things like guards and such are examples of pointless jobs. No ones going to stand there at your castle when they could be off mining and exploring. Personally I'd recommend you only have 2 jobs, miner and farmer. This way both jobs are dependant upon each other, and both jobs are enjoyable.

But what if i build it and no one wants to join its kind of pointless and a waste of time.....Unless everyone else wants screen shots then i have no choice
I actually an awesome world that I was building for and RPG server I was going to make. At the moment I haven't touched it for a few weeks. I'll post a screeny in a second. But in the mean time message me. GT: Ka3pora_Ga3bora and I'll send you an invite to the game.Never mind, turns out you can no longer share photos to facebook. I think the reason this map failed was because my friend and I tried to make it to complicated like stated above. So I'll simplify things and have no currency.
