you need a jack o lantern not pumpkin then it works every time
It should work with a pumpkin every time also. Not sure, but what he was running into could be the limit of 8 snow golems per world. Any you try to make after #8 will fail.

So from what you are saying the sunset /sunrise was wrong to start with and now they have corrcted it ? So presumably the top of the map (with the x, y, z coordinates above it) is north ?
it's in the wiki somewhere - off the top of my head I don't recall the number, but it seemed fairly low to me. Just understand that the cap is calculated on a loaded chunk basis. ergo, if there are a bunch of critters stuck in a hole the next chunk over (that you don't know about) they can still impact you.
I stood up all night so eager to breed, it's frustrating.
My game has frozen 2 times in a row While trying to kick people. I'm guessing this is an issue.
I had an issue with this last night, My Xbox froze twice while I was trying to kick someone from a game while there was a group of us. After the second time I had each of us try to re-create the scenario by starting a world, having someone randomly join then having the owner kick someone. Each of the 3 other users experienced the same phenomena of their Xbox freezing.
So until this is fixed I guess we have to resort to Invite Only until it is fixed (which sucks when one of the others has Lag Issues).

I'm a she. Hehe. I wish i could say it was some sort of limit, but, unfortunately, i can't. One, please do you have a source for this limit? Sorry, but i don't fall for any statement without a legit source to back it up. Two, i tried to make 15 snow golems. Of those 15, i was only able to create 6. Here's what i mean (see the spoiler).

~My problem is a simple one: I'm severely allergic to stupid.~
Don't know what to tell you. I've seen hundereds of nethers since we bought MC for our XBox and there has been gravel in most of them. Same with the PC, except those nethers are significantly larger so gravel has been in all of the nethers i've visited on the PC. We tend to mine a lot in the nether, build homes, pathways, multiple portals, etc. *shrugs*
It is no biggy, i do believe you, as you apparently have more xp than me. I don't like comparing pc to xbox if it can't be helped. I just never stumbled across any patches of any size before 1.8.2 update... in the 1.8.2 one I didn't even bother with the nether under the presumption that fortresses could be found in those worlds. As it is now I probably will not find a world that both has a decent overworld as well a fortress to use potion making with...><
The only reason I don't play pc often enough is due to fact it has a nasty tendency to crash, than and the one generation I did have was falsely generated by a seed number I got. So there is no way to get that area I wanted to build at again. Anyway hopefully things will sort out in the future with the fortresses so I can have a survival map that I could play on at least on easy. Right now the only map I would really truly play on is a 1.7.3 map to utilize enchanting and breeding to add onto it. Survival but on peaceful..lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
So after playing this new update, my friend and I decided to make a giant clock. *tutorial below* Well since this update our sticky pistons are completely glitched out, the work but at the same time they don't. If a number uses the same area twice on the clock it will glitch out and unstick to them.
Also, the trick where you place fences underneath a farm doesn't work anymore -- intended?
yeah - it was - same thing happened in PC - much to my chagrin. I was hoping it would stay around a little longer until my kids got the hang of harvesting without walking on the dirt. Oh well...
If you create a world on peaceful the blaze spawners in the nether fortresses disappear. Not the blazes but the actual spawner block. It doesn't come back on different difficulty settings or even in creative mode.

It's a pity they didn't go ahead and make it the way it is now on PC. You can walk on crops all day long without trampling them. Jumping on them is what tramples them.

Every time I try to travel to the nether, my game crashes. I was going to it fine the first few times but now every time I try to enter it it just freezes on the loading screen. Has anyone else encountered this?
some of the stairs have that 3d model outline, ghost print look instead of what the block looks like. It has the color but ghosted out the look flat and solid color of a 3d model, instead of what it would look like in the recipe section.
mainly I think it is just the nether brick that looks that way. The rest is not like that. However the brick and stone brick one are greyed out even though you have it selected for some reason...O_o or is that just a faded look that was intended?
Anyway the main thing is the nether brick stairs doesn't look like it is suppose to.

I've run across this one too, but not just on peaceful. I created the same world four times on normal after finding two blaze spawners and noting their coordinates, only once were both spawners at the coordinates, once only one showed up and the other two times nothing was there.
1. Nether Fortresses spawn in maybe 1/5 worlds. (If intended then it needs to be made mandatory. PC players don't have this issue because they have gigantic worlds. We are extremely limited..).
2. Nether Fortresses spawn with no Netherwart (It is NOT the 1.1 bug, I entered the portal and checked the viable locations well before 5 minutes were up).
3. Upon reloading a saved world animals load on top of fences sometimes, enabling them to escape.
4. Random passive mob despawning.
5. Huge Mushrooms grown by my friend were not appearing for him nor were numerous other structures. However, when I showed him the location and broke a leaf block, he could hear the breaking sound and could also break some of the mushroom blocks.
6. Beds do not work sometimes (Could be due to the addition of not being able to sleep while Mobs are after you).
7. Animals somehow squeeze through fences?
8. Too many Ghasts at once... I was literally fighting 6 Ghasts and around 7 Blaze at the same time on the walkway of a Nether Fortress.
I'm pretty sure there is a passive mob cap. Maybe to many mobs spawned at once roaming around that is keeping me from breeding more than a couple of times.
It should work with a pumpkin every time also. Not sure, but what he was running into could be the limit of 8 snow golems per world. Any you try to make after #8 will fail.
Yes. The top of the map is north.
Not really a bug. Fences will connect to solid blocks only. Glass is transparent, and not solid.
Maybe so, but as far as the game's code is concerned, it isn't, at least as far as fences connecting to it.

The stairs section. In the selection area.
