Has anyone heard of this bug at all? I used a ender pearl to get back to my house and I aimed at a window of glass pane, and now I merged into its body. Once again has anyone heard of this?

Can anyone else replicate the reappearing blocks bug at a given area?
I have one spot on a map, and I've been back to it four times (on different days, so it's been saved, reopened etc) and this bug happens every time at this point.
I didn't know if it was supposed to be a randomly appearing thing, or if I need to avoid this chunk completely!
I think some theories on this is that there are two different reappearing block bugs. Mine is certainly random and I have saved the world as it has been happening, so it's not that saving has locked it in. Yours does sound more like a chunk-related error.

yes, but... I don't play on that map due to that fact. The only reason it happens in a certain area is where it will start happening. Where you first come across it, I think that would be the point of reference. There is no turning back since you saved the map. It may just spread, it may not. Usually though it just takes 5-10 minutes in that specific area before it actually starts up. Doesn't matter which block after a while, but it will eventually be them all.
There is a work around for this type of reappearing block thing. Which is when the block appears again just use an item on it, like a melon slice for example. Seems to be the best way, as using another block would be counter productive since the same thing will happen to that block too. Of course this is from my experience of that specific bug. The long you tango with the bug the more oddities seem to happen.
And as Up pointed out, even if it is theory, still though it is easy to tell the difference between the one that is prone to lag and the one that is not prone to lag.
The main theory is:
1. The first reappearing bug that is due to lag is not as common in single player but quite common in multiplayer, as the block will simply reappearing for a little moment and then disappear again the way it should be. Sometimes though in this if you had not gained the resource from them it will revert back to last known block broken. After all the game is a server in and unto itself. The host is the one running it and the others connected will experience this type of lag occasionally. The Host usually doesn't but can at types if there is enough players that are bogging down the hosts place. After all the host xbox has to process not only what the primary person does but what everyone else does. The rest just send and receive for the most part.
2. The other type of reappearing bug happens in both single and multiplayer without prejudice. This the blocks will reappear and just don't every revert back to what they should be. If they do revert back, it would be very noticeable time span. However I have never had one actually disappear again, or revert to what it should be. You will always get the resource from this type of reappearing block. And as I mentioned there is a workaround. Where as the #1 is mainly connection or such trying to keep up with the host while it processes its' own stuff, this specific type actually might just be a graphical update error. Where as the graphic will appear as if not updated, and since the engine is based on the what is there it will logically make so would act like a normal block. However will more likely not drop the resource again. If it does, that mean you managed to duplicate it, which is difficult to do. Besides I think the reappearing blocks are more of a problem than it is worth even attempting that little notion.
3. The two may be linked to some degree in what causes them, but in most cases they are separate as xbox and pc versions of minecraft. They are difference even though with similarities. The main theory of the third one here is only a possible link between the two glitches/bugs. However does not mean if you get rid of one the other will be gone, just means the other will probably have a reduction if one is circumvented out.
All these are just theories, just keep that in mind. I may not be very well at explaining things, but this is my take on this specific glitch/bug.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
i have had a problem where my skin and hands and also hub isnt loading i have deleted the game and all my saves and packs but is there anything that could cause that kind of glitch?
There are optional toggles for all of the items you mentioned. After entering the game, click "start." Select "Help & Options," then "Settings," then "Graphics." Make sure the toggles for "Display HUD," "Display Hand," and "Custom Skin Animation" display checkmarks. Use "B" to back out of the menu once they do.
I'm also having problems with lava and water. when ever I place them they go invisible and the affects of them being there are still there but I can't see it. Also anything red stone and piston when I place it, it disappears and once again the affects of them are still there but you can't see it. It's really quite annoying.
Has anyone lese been experiencing breeding problems? My chickens as well as dogs cannot breed. They get hearts attempt to breed, however they just kind of ram each other.... repeatedly until I punch them. Also, I have thrown well over 200 chicken eggs and received no chickens either.
Whenever I mine a block, it regenerates! If I mine it again, it won't drop an entity, but it will still respawn! It only does it on survival. I tried clearing my cache, but it didn't fix it. I deleted it and redownloaded, nothing happened. I powered the xbox on and off again, it worked for a few days, but now it does nothing.
This is kinda a hard bug to explain in text but when your flying in survival mode and you double tap a to fall and double tap a to stop falling and fly again hurts you and sometimes if you fall from a really high height and you die the death message will say: (blank) hit the ground to hard
just wanted to add a few things to the list. you cant silk touch ice blocks. fortune on shovel doesnt give you more flint, clay, snow, etc.fire aspect burns xp orbs some times. using potions on mobs dont give you full xp.fotune dont work on glow stone. picks and other tools break and come back sometimes.silk touch breaks on the block it doesnt give you silked blocked. just normal ore or block ect.still cant use chain armor or sponge armor or sponge. though i never saw sponge armor in creative. so maybe that was a typo. villagers dont go in at night. maybe later update. but they also wonder away from there villages someimes. if i can remember anything else all replie again. if you want more testers me and my buddy are more than happy to help out. also he has so good ideas. maybe for mojang. since they add everything first to the game.

For the Fortune stuff:
Fortune doesn't increase the amount of flint you get from gravel; instead it increases the odds of getting flint from gravel.
Fortune doesn't work on snow blocks, glowstone, or clay (and anything else I'm not thinking of that's similar) because you can use the extra drops to create infinite blocks of that kind (i.e. if you break 4 clay blocks and get 5 clay from each block, you can end up crafting 5 clay blocks from it, and then you can do it again to keep creating more clay) so even in the PC version it won't work in those situations.
Everything else is a bug. Just thought I'd clarify.

Ive had this issue as well. I posted a video somewhere on one of the other pages showing it off.
I also found the light at the edge of the world to be amusing and kinda helpful.
I also noticed its valued at about 4 or 5 light level when i compared it to a torch.

actually it glowstone it does work, but not in the same way as it does other ones. Basically the higher fortune the better chance you will get 4 dust from the block. However just like you mentioned, it would be redundant to cause it to go higher than making the block itself. The only reason I mention glowstone is due to the fact normally it does not drop 4 all the time anyway. Fortune just improves that chance....
Actually I thought a fortune III would cause not only 100% to drop flint from gravel but would have a slight chance to drop 2...O_o Might be mistaken on this specific one though...hmm...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Haven't had this happen until I started taming wolves and making snow golems, no idea if its related, but it's the only difference I'm aware of since this started.
When mining blocks, usually smooth stone, it gives me the mined block but re adds it to the environment like when you're playing on a server on pc and your connection is having issues.
Also, sometimes when placing blocks by water in caves, it makes random source blocks where or near where the water was flowing, saving or saving, exiting, and reloading kind of help, but not completely.
This is from the latest update as of 1/18/13, last time I played.
A fix to the problem with the max drop I am really tired of farming my wheat in portions instead of hitting a lever and collecting the 180 wheat and however many seeds and then they despawn and i only get around 75>
A few glitches that I've noticed:
-Silk touch cannot harvest ice blocks.
-Destroying a block (such as a torch) and placing it right next to the original position of the item when you load the game causes a duplication glitch.
-The starting chest still reappears each time you load the game if you destroy it.
-Animals de-spawn if I put them in my house, but not if I lock them up in my closet.
-Animals can't walk through open doors (the door is too thick and I have to take it off for them to fit through).
-Fishing rod appears to be coming out of the player's feet when viewed by another player.
-Chests close too quickly.
-Opening chests/crafting table/furnace in an online multiplayer game with a splitscreen player causes a huge lag.
-Sprinting next to blocks cause you to enter the block next to you and take damage.
-TONS of ladder glitches
1)It is near imposible to remove a ladder from a block without destroying the block it's on
2)While standing on a ladder and trying to mine another block it tries to mine the ladder
3)Slimes seem to like spawning on a ladder, a glitch so that you can't go up the ladder. Also, you can't atack the slime because it glitches into other blocks around it, and also it makes you mine the ladder instead of attacking the slime.
A few glitches that I've noticed: -Silk touch cannot harvest ice blocks. This was not implemented yet.
-Destroying a block (such as a torch) and placing it right next to the original position of the item when you load the game causes a duplication glitch. -The starting chest still reappears each time you load the game if you destroy it. This was intended function.
-Animals de-spawn if I put them in my house, but not if I lock them up in my closet. -Animals can't walk through open doors (the door is too thick and I have to take it off for them to fit through). I believe that cows and sheep or any that size would not make sense to go through that gap. The chicken and pig maybe. Your doggy should. But this is minecraft after all... hmm...

When your walking along a bed of soul sand and you cross from soul sand to some other block, while going under a 2 block high roof, you get stuck as if there is something in the way

This, extremely annoying; also i loaded a 1.8 world and now the desert i live in is covered in snow, i don't know if they made this on purpose because of christmas or something as a joke but it's not funny at all and it's annoying

1. Silk touch & ice: It didn't do it in this equivalent version on the PC and it doesn't do it on the XBox.
2. Sounds like a varient of the blocks reappearing bug (see thread currently running in the discussion section).
3. Starting chest: This is apparently how the developer intends this feature to function.
4. Despawning from Larger Area: How big is your house? I believe that when the "pen" area gets too large, the game no longer thinks of the animal as being confined and will despawn them just like wild ones. I've had less problem with despawnings since I started building smaller pens overall.
5. Animals & Doors: I think the idea is that we're supposed to use fence gates for animal enclosures. You can also use double doors.
6. Lol. Never noticed that.
7. Chest Closing: I kind of like how they close fast.
8. Splitscreen Lag: Agree and it can also completely freeze the XBox at that point.
9. IDK - never happened to me.
10. Ladders 1: I don't have much trouble with this anymore. Make sure you're getting the ladder's hitbox is the one being displayed before you start mining. If I'm just wanting to remove a ladder, I also just use my hand as a tool. Since my ladders are usually mounted some sort of stone-based block, my hand can't pop the block itself.
11. Again, no worries if you pay attention to what hitboxes are outlined before you start mining.
12. Lol. Slimes do generally like to get in the way. I've had them spawn half into walls and seem like they get stuck there. However, they've always seemed to free themselves if I just stand back a couple of blocks and wait for them to head to me.
