Just wondering if all you are starting a new world? I will be for sure! Even though i just made a slime farm i still can't wait to do it again but with xp and enchanting.
I am going to love all the new thing's, plus i will be able to make test sub..... I mean snow men for my lab,lol
Cant wait!!
Any one else think survival will be fun again. That's mostly what I'll be playing. Guess it's back to work soon!
I think i may have to find some people to so it's funner.
I am not. Took forever to transition from 1.7 to 1.8 and a mushroom biome isn't as big as a reason as Mineshafts/Strongholds/Villages were.. which in retrospect mineshafts are pretty whack I don't even use the melons for food and haven't found a stronghold in my survival world yet... But! I left a 1/4 of the map unexplored hoping something new will generate there... Also didn't enter the Nether so hopefully the structures down there will spawn in after the update.
* I'll actually go back to my 1.7.3 map hoping the lag issues the last update brought have been corrected.... :-/ a man can dream *sigh*
Me and 10 of my friends have been building a city since the first update and adding unobtainable blocks that were added(Vines, Sponge, Silver Fish Stone, etc.) though the creative mode. So, no I must remain in Saint City.

why, not much is changing in the terrain generation...I may make world after world to have one with a mushroom biome, but actually playing on it is another story. I think my old and recent maps will do for this update.
When jungles come out, that is when I will more likely do another major search for a map, as I love the jungle biomes... Even still I will not abandon my old worlds though, I would continue to add this and that. Always nice to have a selection of different worlds to play on if I don't feel like doing something in a specific one at the moment.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I will start an new world. I have traveled the entire map currently, Been to the nether and found my stronghold. I want to see all the new stuff in all its glory.. Now lets hope they don't reset the leaderboards..
I will only because I want the nether fortresses, and I've already ransacked my nether... If anyone wants to join in a new survival mode when the update comes out let me know.

I currently have 3 creative mode maps and 2 survival mode maps. Each is a different seed, and has a different purpose.
1 ultra flat for testing ideas. (beginning to look like a city map)v1.8.2
1 random seed for designing an adventure map. v1.7
1 random seed with Santa's village. v1.8.2
1 initial map from August 2012 three fourths explored. (used most often, have been to nether) Please forgive me but some duplication was done.
1 map with very little use but a very interesting spawn location, as well as some other interesting features. Will probably dump this one.
several others I just do not use, but have not deleted.
I will still be creating a new one if I don't get a mushroom biome/nether fortress on my main map.

You can still get vines in survival (with shears), you know.

no you can not. The only way you would ever get vines is if you have a swamp on your seed. And 1.7.3 maps and before do not have this. Not all 1.8.2 maps have swamps either...
So shears are useless for vines, unless you do have a swamp.
