i heard that if you clear the cache on your Xbox it will delete all the updates for your games my questen is if i do that when i am done updating Minecraft will my worlds still be there an useable or will they get deleted with the updates (i never cleared the cache on anything before so i know nothing about it)
I'm pretty sure that if you clear your cache, and then play offline without updating you will not be able to play your worlds that use features that were added in updates.

I need to give out more reputation. I'm not used to the system, but I see so many helpful posts. D: Sorry if I forget you!
I want to know when you first download the game, does it come with the latest update or 1.6.6? What if I delete the game and re-download it, will I be stuck with the latest update?
If you clear the cache, all leaderboards stats will be reseted. I don't really care about that to be honest, but if you do be aware.
And yes, you can load your old worlds but all those update features will not be there (i.e. pistons, apple, etc).
For some reason, if you are using a skin from any skin pack and then you clear the cache and join the game, you'll be with Steve's default skin wearing a glitched cape.
Hmm maybe that explains why my leaderboard stats were recently cleared too xD I don't know how I never worked that one out though :| cause it was not long around the time of clearing my cache to get my old world back, and then updating back to the current version, that I noticed my stats had been cleared... *facepalm*
Yeah I was going to point that out, when I cleared my cache I noticed that the Steve skin had a weird glitchy wire-frame texture looking cape, and all the passive mobs looked the same too a bit! Thankfully I never encountered any creepers/zombies etc that were glitched out, or else they'd practically be invisible until up close D:
Yep, and pigs are just a bunch of pixels walking around O.o
I would move the worlds onto a memory stick (just in case)
This is an old thread. At one time the updates were stored in the cache, so clearing the cache would reverse updates. However, 4J changed this several updates ago and now they are stored in the same folder as the game files and game saves. Clearing the cache, therefore, does not un-update the game any longer.
