**This is just an idea and not a feature request. I am putting forth an idea that we could see after the 1.2.5 update. It could be years before anything happens."
4J Studios said that after they update the xbox 360 edition of Minecraft to 1.2.5 they were looking to go a different way from the PC version of Minecraft. They also said that they were looking into adding mods to Minecraft as DLC. So this is my idea: Add Feed the Beast to Xbox Edition of Minecraft. This DLC could be for hardcore Minecraft players Beast is a huge mod pack. The pack would retail for $10, as it sooo huge. It would add a lot of fun to Minecraft after playing hundreds of hours of vanilla Minecraft. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
Adds a huge amount of mods to the Xbox edition of Minecraft . Adds hundreds of hours onto the game. Mod Pack could be togged on or off in the world settings.
Cons:
Coding Time would take a while (could be quicker if another independent studio was hired by Mojang.) Xbox limited ram will be an issue . Crafting Interface will be very cluttered. (New design for the mod pack maybe?) Getting help from all the mod makers could present problems.
Now another idea is to just take the best stuff from Feed the Beast and add that in to the xbox edition. This could solve some problems.
So what do you think? I have setup a poll to see what people think. As well there is the whole mod list of Feed the Beast.
Feed the Beast Mod List:
Minecraft Forge
Chickenbones Core
NEI
Rei's Minimap
Advanced Machines
BuildcraftC Computer Craft
Ender Storage
Extra Bees ExtraBiomes XL
Factorization
Forestry ForgeIRC
Gregtech

Modular Forcefield System

Obsidian Pressure Plates
Portal Gun
Railcraft
Steve's Carts
Thermal Expansion
Too big.
Too expensive.
Too many cons.
Too much like PC.
I'd rather have fewer, better mods (if any).
Why does everyone hate on the PC? Remember if minecraft was not like the PC then it wouldn't be minecraft. As well i did mention that 4J could take the best mods from the the mod pack, and how would it be too expensive?
I'd buy mod pack DLCs if they make it so that you can turn off selected mods (and were packed full of content.) Say I don't like the iron chest mod. Turn it off when the world generates and you're good to go.
Except that they cannot just take and use PC mods. They must be created by 4J themselves. In that form, 4J would most likely make them different than the ones on the PC to suit there view of them game and to work well on the Xbox 360. You also have to take into account the memory issue on the Xbox 360. The more that gets added to the game, the memory it requires.

In all complete honesty, I want 4J to make their own stuff. I want them to make Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, not Minecraft PC on the Xbox 360. If you want all of the things the PC version has, mods, free texture packs, free skins, adventure maps, etc, etc, then get the PC version.
If you don't have a PC that can play it, then tough luck. This version of the game shouldn't be made into a PC copy just because you can't play the PC version. 4J have stated again and again that the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft is just that, the Xbox 360 Edition.

How so? It actually can't do that, there is no story line. I COULD buy this pack, not use it, and have not added any hours. You can't state that as a pro.
I think if mods are not carefully handled were gonna have alot of upset people floating around. Minecraft is different for each and every one of us, most of us fall under certain groups or classes within minecraft. Mods are not gonna appease each class, and each class in turn is gonna be upset that their group isn't being looked after so to speak.
For example, if a mod pack came out that simply added more creatures to the game, well i could care less about it as i am sure many others may feel the same way, but to others this would be a joyous occasion. I'm into automation, and innovation and epic builds, so mods like buildcraft would rock my world, but to others they could care less.
Personally first mod i'd like to see is something similar to too many items, allowing us to save and recall different hotbar configurations, so you could setup one for wood, wool, stone, redstone, this would certainly save alot of time going through menus and adjusting hotbars every time i need to do something, then having to fix your hotbar back to whatever it was you were doing. As well as allowing us to game mode switch, change day/night/noon/midnight, turn foul weather on/off, ect..
However alot can change between then and now and since next version we are getting isn't even a full 1.0 version, it will probably be awhile yet before mods are even looked at.

Exactly. +1
IF 4J ever does one mod, people will demand a dozen, then several dozen. MCer's will never be happy.
It's the same for the PC- if there isn't constant updates then people get "bored"….. and not everybody likes those changes. But, hey, Jeb's job is secure.
i think u mean basicly yogbox?, i wish it could come but it cant, not because of 4J because of Microsoft (screw you microsoft), well nothing to do, dont think that 4J or Microsoft will listen to anybodies tips, requests.Force Microsoft to listen to the ppl and ill give you 100000000 dollars, its impossible.
Using the FTB launcher I put the maximum amount of RAM minecraft could use to 512
I usually get over 100 FPS, but this brought it down to 40-50 FPS, so there would need to be an insane amount of optimization to get all the mobs to work on Xbox.
Also, 4J would need to get permission from every mod maker, not just the FTB devs. Mojang could probably just hand them all the mods, but I don't think the modders would be very happy about that... also, the time needed to code all of them. They would need to either be coding for over a year, drop minecraft development and work on just a mod pack, or they would need to hire a new branch of people on the 4J team.
Also other reasons, like how mods like BC, EE3, RP2, IC2 ect. just don't work as a main part of the game.
All of those mods would never work on the xbox, it simply wouldnt be able to handle them whatsoever.
Feed the beast for minecraft XBLA simply isnt going to happen, if you want the reasons why, go and check the thread somebody made about adding Tekkit to the XBLA version, all 30 pages of it.
