So has anyone else started, finishing up, or finished a month build? Something that's so good and big it could be posted on the PC forums and shock them? Just curious. Game's been out for like 7 months now.

Nothing shocks PC gamers... I've seen people make computers that include a tetris game, a add/sub/multi/divi calculator, tic tac toe, and a good bye/hello screen. Idk if you have seen any of the builds there either.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
MCXBLA is still pretty fresh, what with us console kiddies mucking about with it, compared to people who've been in minecraft for a while. Most people here who'd do serious building would just handle it on the PC instead of the XBox.
The XBox version is not completely reliable with all the updates, something always seems to go wrong with previous versions. Until they call the game "Done" I don't see the point in trying to do something major.

I for one don't really start a new map with updates, I keep the old one. Don't play it when things go wrong in the update, but that is what backups are for. I don't really do big big builds, I just append and add to my primary world. With the updates it just adds more things to do with my buildings/structures and decorations.
For me it is no sense in even doing big builds like that awaiting the next update, as I would rather just play the way I have since I started, at least on that primary map. Other than that, I will make a new map to fiddle around with the new stuff that I can not get in my old map.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I've been working in my main build world since July; however, what I build, I build for myself and to share with my close friends only. I really don't have much interest in showing pics of any of it online for public bragging rights or as an open invitation to griefers.
The XBox, because of local 4-player splitscreen and a limit of 8 players at a time online is more personal than the huge servers on the PC. It's one difference between the XBox and the PC that I really happen to like.
before the update I had a world that everyone said belonged on the pc version
I actually would look at that as a compliment, assuming the post wasn't viciously attacking the fact. There are quite a few builds on the pc that are really good on the pc, but like Up said I like xbox for that due fact it makes things a bit more personable as in the fewer building the better the end result kind of thing, and the less disorganized it will look. Not always the case but we all have our own way to play...:D

ive built a medieval town and a castle, but nothing huge, like OverlookeDEnT said until the updates stop you requiring a new map theres not really any point to it
Do they plan on doing that? As in when they update, you do not have to make a new map? It would be so nice if they were. =]
You don't have to make a new map; but they will be changing strongholds and villages a little with the next update, adding new biomes, as well as adding some new structures to the nether. You won't get those changes unless you start a new map.

Oh, I know that, I probably should I said I know you don't have to make a new map for every update, Just the ones where they add different things like villages, villagers, strongholds, and things like that. With that being said I am guessing you will probably always have to make a new maps for updates like that... =/ Is it possible that down the road you won't have to make a new map? Or is it just too time consuming and work for them to do that?
The problem is map size is not infinite like the PC version. In the PC version you could just explore further until you find an area with the new biomes or changes. You cannot do that on MC360 due to the limited map sizes. Changing worlds that are already fully explored would require rewritting the world information in the save files. Start doing that for every user and the problems that causes becomes unmanagable rather quickly.
The only workaround that has any chance of success is to leave large areas of your map unexplored and pray you get the new biome or an updated stronghold/village in that area. Your chances aren't really good though.

Alright thanks, to me it is not a huge deal. It still bums me out a little, but in the end it is worth it because I end up making something even better than before. =]
Yeah I left the top left of my new 1.8.2 world unexplored hoping new things will generate on the next update... Though Since I took forever to let go of my 1.7.3 map, I'm not getting too attached to this new one... Just consider it practice for when the game is up to Par and then! Begin with the real builds. I just want it to get to a point where the things that get added are simply items or textures that won't need a new map.

Do you think that will ever be the case?... Do PC users ever really know for sure that some massive change in the game's code or architecture isn't coming down the road that will render even their "infinite" worlds impractical (if not downright unusable).
When the 1.8.2 update was approaching, XBox users at least had some sort of idea of what was coming... because the PC users had already been there. Even though they could theoretically walk off the edge of their world's to get the new biomes, the changes to the biome code at that point didn't prevent the terrain in those biomes from colliding with any terrain that had been generated prior to the update. It didn't prevent the climate from changing in their old biomes either. It didn't prevent their favorite old seeds from becoming obsolete.
After 4J decides to take this game in their own direction, how will we ever really know when the only things to be added will be items and textures?

I have to disagree. As most games go, the more you play, the better you get. I mean, I have seen a lot of poor houses and buildings and I made a few when I first started playing. I like it the way it is now, but there are improvements that can always be made (as it is with any game). The studio is working on it as we have all seen. I keep playing it now because of the point I want to keep practicing different building techniques or mining techniques and it is also just fun to play on Creative or Survival. Having it on Normal and Hard and trying to do different goals with friends is an awesome time.

Current project has been in construction for two months, was in planning and design for the month previous to that. Hell, there are still a couple aspects that need redesigned on paper before being built. That being said, it won't be the best, but it'll definitely be up there a bit.

I would like to see this, I'm pretty sure no one has ever implemented Tetris into a redstone computer. And if they have, it certainly wasn't developed fully through software, which is the only way it could be a true RS computer game. A standalone version would be much more efficient, in pure data it would be so slow that it's unplayable.
Calculator, obviously, CPUs already have a built-in calculator, it's called an ALU. Tic Tac Toe would be quite a challenge, though you would need specialized hardware for it to run quickly. (sort of... it would still be much slower than standalone) This just means a custom screen though, something to reduce the amount of coordinates the program would need to designate when input is received. Long story short, it's feasible, though I don't know why anyone would actually do it.
Splash screens during power on/off... That's just plain stupid. If it's not just some cheap knockoff running in a single program, it would require something akin to an OS, or at least BIOS. If someone is smart enough to implement this in redstone, (which has never been done before, to my knowledge) they certainly wouldn't be dumb enough to waste program memory on hello/goodbye messages.
