Bonemeal is always a good fix for anything concerning flowers, food, or trees really. Also, how did you get so many chickens in one spot? That was something I was curious about from the start of this topic.

haha, I just waited for the chickens to lay eggs. I believe I started off by trapping two and then it grew from there. I got lucky that when throwing the eggs, chickens would spawn a good amount. It really was all in luck when throwing the eggs. =]
Ahh I see. I did not know that throwing eggs would do that. That isn't a half bad idea. I was looking for more stuff to add to my towns and now that I have figured that out, I will have to do it. I have a good village up and would love this. I will try the fence thing and let you know how it goes and if I can replicate your problem.

Make sure when you throw the eggs you don't hit the other chickens.. I would accidently do that and it hurt them. I don't think hitting them with just one will kill them, but if you are firing them everywhere (which is fun to throw them everywhere) it could kill some of them. Good luck though, chickens can be such a pain to trap sometimes. haha
I wouldn't doubt it that they can be a pain to capture. I think I will build their housing first and then try throwing the eggs. I couldn't imagine that hitting them with eggs could kill them but wow. I wonder if hitting a pig or cow with an egg would have the same effect.
I don't think it is a bug, as chickens tend to hover-fly and can easily jump one block. Use bone meal on grass to make grass grow long and you'll also get flowers

I would guess they take the same amount of damage, just like hitting them with a snowball hurts them.
I've never had a problem with chickens getting out.. but My world seems to have a problem spawning chickens. I've only seen around 10 since the last major update.

hmm, interesting. I know before the fix, I had a hard time finding anything but chickens and wolfs. The main one I had a hard time finding was sheep. Since the update I am finding all the animals now. YAY! Hopefully you are able to find more chickens sometime. =]

Oh wow, typo... I meant wolves... haha The only animal I do have a hard time either finding or getting to is the squid. When I do find them they are so far down in the water, that by the time I get to them I have to go back to the surface. But you know now that I think about it, maybe the fix did somehow make it harder to find chickens. I might have not noticed it since I had so many before the fix. I have so many eggs now so I guess it still does not matter too much with me. I am not making my chicken farm again until either the update comes out or I make a better barn to place them. =]

Hahahaa Wolfs, didn't even notice that. Guess I'm used to reading people's bad spelling/grammar everywhere. Not that yours is. The minecraft wiki said squids have to spawn between level 46-62. So if you're too high or low where you're looking they won't be there. Even though I'm pretty sure most oceans will be between those levels.. Hope that helps.
Yes, thank you. I think I have found a way to get down to the squid in the deep part. Got my kitchen floor done, so I don't think I will be needing black dye for right now. =]
Why would you hate that!? Except for staying up waaay too late when you have to work the next day.
I guess hate is too strong of a word, I dislike it. haha Reason being when I play, I tend to lose track of time. Time flys when playing minecraft I suppose. =b
